i never got it. blazerchops needs to find a box i think. plus its not something i planned on keeping on it all the time. there's been several occasions where it would be nice to have one, so i was gonna put it on. but not all the time unless it looked kinda cool.

and as for the temp, I'm happy with where its at. i did a search and mine is where most peoples is, along with my dad saying the temp is fine, and with what Cory has said.

and you all have some weird ass theory's on the damn speeding bird!

got a pair of channel locks, grabbed onto 2 of the bolts on the pulley. then a big crescent wrench on the big nut holding the fan clutch on, and gave it a good whack from my palm and it broke right loose.

weeeeeee(let it pass by once then it will play normal speed)

My dad has a kick ass wrench to take off the pulley fans, if I knew what it was called I'd tell you. I'll look at it tomorrow. How hard was it to install the new fan?

fan clutch pulley holder? i knew there was a tool for it, but i didnt see why i couldnt do it my way. plus i did some reading after i did mine and see some people stick a rag between the pulled and belt to keep it from spinning.

and the fan was easy as hell to install. got my main power from the b+ wire off the fuse box to relay(fused), switched 12v source, ground(relay and fan) then wire from fan to relay. and ta da. factory shroud works and everything.

Re: [Project] UP? or downż

Awesome. I have to replace my heater core and intake gaskets, so might as well try an e-fan out and see how it is.

I'm getting one of those mirrors w/ auto dim, compass and temp readings from me to me for my 18th birthday

Do you have a thermostatic controller? I think I read you got one but it might have just said relay.

and i got some goodies in today!

my braided lines for the front brakes finally!

and my delphi pump!

Original equipment fuel pump, ftw. I've heard too many cases of cheap pumps lasting a month or less. Yours wasn't the first.

How much did those SS lines run you?

Re: [Project] UP? or downż

cleaned up the wiring for my efan...

heres how i did it..

tied in with the oxygen sensor.

cut the box some to let the wire go in without being pinched

all covered up

relay mounted

overviews, looks clean for me!

and you can see the fuse for the power wire in this pic right when it comes out the the fuse box. hard to see, but its there.

Re: [Project] UP? or downż

How much power gain did you notice? So the fans are on all the time when it's running? What's the temp it's usually at going down the road? What about sitting still idling for a while in hot weather?

Re: [Project] UP? or downż

yesterday it only got up to 90 degrees.. today was a little cooler. idling it sits infront of 210. you can see the whole white line for 210 and a little black infront of that.

i do stop n go traffic. i drive about a block or so and im stopped again so it always stays there.

Well that's good then, never above 210. What about power increase? I didn't notice much on my fullsize with dual e-fans

Re: [Project] UP? or downż

you dont need a shroud, the one that came on the fan is just fine as long as it sits flush with the radiator.

i didnt notice any power increase. i dont drive this thing hard anyways.

and it got above 210.. while driving, wtf? i was sitting in burger king parking lot and the temp got up to 210, then i drove off, it dropped back down to where it normally is, then jumped up past 210 and sat there for about a minute then went to 210.

and my voltage with the efan and headlights SUCKS. it drops down 2 notches below 14 when completely stopped at a light. then as soon as i get off the brake and it starts rolling it goes right back up to 14.. is that bad?

i might do some searching around n see what the best factory fan is to run.. i know its been posted here many times, im just gonna do some research. the thing that makes me kinda nervous is that its been fairly cool here this past week, so when it get hot as hell again im sure the temp will get up there.

Re: [Project] UP? or downż

Yeah, that's what I was tryin to tell you about. And since I know you're in Texas, you're in the same heat boat that I'm in.
If you get a thermostatic controller it'll help out your voltage problems because the fan won't always need to be on, especially at night.

Secondly, a shroud (as Ryo suggested) would also be a good idea. Some sheet aluminum, a bender, and some self tapping screws should do the trick.

Re: [Project] UP? or downż

I just went through your brake install and it sounds like you had to do the exact same things that i did. Grinding on the spindles and shimming the abutment brackets.

and whats the status on the cowl?

thanks. we all made it through it ok!

and i finally am getting around to making my hole in my floor less ghetto. at first i just cut out 3 sides and bent it back cause i was in a hurry. now im making it look better...

the temp seal up job...

opened.. yes i know the hole is way bigger than it needed to be but i didnt have much of an idea where the hole was.. but this way its super easy to work on lol.

new one taped off

cut

where im at now.. closed

opened

i need to go buy some kinda of weather stripping for it now.. and it wouldn't hurt to weld in a little brace or something along the back side of the cut out(side with dzus fasteners.) its a little flimsy

That's a pretty good idea if you expect to be needing to access the fuel pump more than once. I'll have to keep that in mind when mine finally goes. I'm at 150k and I don't think it's ever been replaced.

damn 150k and still stock pump? mine had 68k and was acting up.

the only reason i decided to cut a hole was i dropped the tank the 1st time to put in a cheapo one, and it was a pita. so i decided to cut a hole to put the delphi in it. plus with my luck with fuel pumps, i think the hole is good. plus with the hole there, i can change the fuel pump start to finish in about 15 minutes. just pull my spare tire out, unclip the rear part of the side panels, remove top and bottom plastics, pull carpet back, undo dzus fasteners, change pump, and reassemble.

thanks man.

and yeah the phone is ok. i took the *shock and water resistant* a little to far i think. i always talked on it in water, would drop it in my drinks to mess with people, throw it wayyy in the air and not catch it.. after about 6 months of that it would start shutting it self off if i closed it.
