Re: [Project] UP? or downż

that amp looks sweet! iv used an alpine like that before and its not too hard at all. theres a lot more things that you can adjust if i remember it right. you dont have to change them all but you can you know.

The SX amps are a good lineup, you should like them. From what i've read they have great tuning abilities, now hurry up with the box!

thats good to hear about the amp!

and i would have it all hooked up right now but my dad said it was to late to be working on it.. when i was turning an allen wrench hooking the wires up so tomorrow I'm gonna finish hooking the wires up n screw the subs in. i decided not to use the fiberglass part, i didn't think it was worth the extra work/time for the space i was gaining. no pictures of box.

updates tomorrow.

How did you countersink the amp in there with only one 3/4" sheet of MDF?

cut hole for amp, cut some strips 1.75" tall and dropped down a base for it to sit in then sealed it all up etc. its all 3/4" except for the front i guess "beauty" panel so it makes the subs sit flush.

you know us all to well thats usually why when i type up a post, i re read it to see how many different ways it can be taken/made fun of or something

this weekend im gonna take the box back out and route all the edges, fill te screw holes etc. im up in the air in if i am going to get the box carpeted or get it line x'd. for now ill stick with just routing it and getting it all smoothed up. im mounting the bass knob in the center console thing. ill get a pic tomorrow. im also going to fix up some of the wiring etc i did to get it all working. even though you dont see it, it bothers me how it looks inside the box.

Re: [Project] UP? or downż

My vote is for line-X. I've done several boxes with it and love the way it looks and holds up. Also prevents any air leaks and you can throw a wet bathing suit or towel on it and not think twice.

ima go see how much they will charge me to do it. ill probably have to make trim around my subs bigger so itll fit after line x. it barely fits now. same with the amp.

Re: [Project] UP? or downż

.. use the router to take off 1/8th inch and have them spray it that thick. They usually ask how thick you want it, and if they don't ask make sure you tell them.
