and our very own Dustin aka TubbD made the fillers for bracing the lower front diff mount.

Also David12460 or something and His friend jake gave us a hand today

rear shock mount braced

rear frame boxed

Upper front link bar mounts with new gusset

More bracing in place

We make sure stuff is right so 3 people on everything .

Re: Project TTTYPHOON

Have you ever done any fiberglass work before? I was thinking about the enclosures. I think it would look good to blend them into that wall/arm rest. I didn't look too closely but im assuming its textured plastic. However we could wrap it in leather much like the dash you talked about.

Yeah when I was talking to my interior guy yesterday we talked about building a one piece side panels, that go along the rear seat. They would include the speaker enclosures into them.

Also we flipped the frame over to get at some welding on the bottom of the frame and to finish off the notches and body mounts.
And I am back at school now so down to the weekends again.

Yeah that should look good. How much more time do you think the chassis needs before sending it to PC?

Re: Project TTTYPHOON

Here are a couple pictures of the mock up motor. Also a comparison of the tbss cluster to the s10. Mounting points are different and the plug would only work if you have a 98 &up. And for anyone curious it was 300 shipped from electronic warehouse. But it is a brand new cluster.

The motor is sitting high in the frame because the factory truck pan hits on the drivers side. But it is good motivation.

The cluster comparison.

We wrote a list up on Saturday and we need to..
-finish the underside welding
-clean up and finish the notches
-finish the body mounts
-motor mounts
-front suspension mock up (need control arms)
-And just some finish welding and grinding

but I am sure I forgot something.

And will do thanks again

Re: Project TTTYPHOON

Thanks

Well I have been lazy about the update from this weekend my xtreme was rear-ended and so I have had my mind else where.

Anyway we got the bottom welding done and flipped the frame back over.
Mike made the motor mount plates they look great. Trimmed the notches and added gussets. Started to repaired the body mounts. Also the frame is completely boxed now.
Anyway on with the pictures.

Motor Mounts

Front shock mount bracing- this is in addition to fully welding the stock mount in.

Front diff from the bottom

Frame boxed cut down a 3in angle and fit it above the old front leaf spring mount.

Notch

Notch bracing
And the frame flipped over

Also above the notches there are two pieces of 3/8" metal so it is stronger then ever.

Enjoy

and as for the swaybar mounts...

can you flip the sway bar upsidedown and mount it lower on the axle to get a better angle?
or is there a reason for that angle?

Re: Project TTTYPHOON

you could move the frame mount farther back on the frame, and move the axle mount under the axle but the bar might hit the rearend

Re: Project TTTYPHOON

The links would have to be shortened just slightly so that the center of the bar doesn't hit the frame. Other than that, without a totally custom setup, I don't think theres much else they can do about it.

We will should caravan for sure.

As for the sway bar, part of the problem with the angle is due to the fact that the suspension is at full lift as it were. The coil overs are not adjusted at all and there is zero wieght in the frame so the axle in the pictures is not at final ride height.
The ride height is set to 6 inches with a 27 inch overall diameter tire.

once the axle is on its ride height the angle should correct its self if not where it needs to be we will have to shorten or length the end links.
