Re: Project: Suicidal

i still have my other truck.. i traded my daily grand am for this thing.. the grand am looked alot better and was a 97 but had 200,000 miles and it was getting old.. this truck has a newer motor just doesnt look good.. also i wanted something i could easily work on and it be cheap to fix..
been workin on it since 3 today non stop.. the interor is cleaned out, i found out that non of the air/heater controls were hooked up behind the dash so i plugged those in.. i got the door poppers working beautifully! im installing a rear licesne plate light right now.. but the main consern right now.. its got so many leaks.. theres oil all over my garage from it, i havent really looked yet but i can see the seal were the driveshaft connects into the trans is bad.. same thing happend with my good truck to, but i didnt replace it, i had someone do it for me.. so i gues i have to figure out how to now.. also the front break rotors are warped, no speedometer- theres no cable.. heater still doesnt work which sucks casue i want it lol.. somewhat smells like anti-freeze but we think its the heater core.. ill have some pics up tonight..

yeah if your smellin anti freeze and your heater isnt working its a very very high chance your heater core is bad.

Re: Project: Suicidal

well shimmed the front suspention out.. there was way to much positvie camber.. also since its super nice out i pulled the bed off.. checking everything out under there, i have a bad vibration or shaking around 50-55 so im making sure everything is tight under there, but some blocks shifted so i dont think everything is tight as it should be.. and this bed is in better shape then mine.. so ya might swap beds but not sure..

you should get some 1500-2000 grit sand paper and wet sand that flat black on that beater and it will look a lot smoother and uniform. cant wait to see more! those wheels are sick but those tires are HUGE lol

no just dont sand it too far since its thin. it just makes the primer smoother so it looks more uniform.

Everything looks great man, very nice! I like the dash.
Just a heads up, the way you installed that bridge kit, with the crossmember bar at the front of the knotch. I think its kind of designed the way it is to go the other way to clear your upper bars. Depending on tire sizes, you might have clearance issues with your upper 3 link bar hitting that when layed out. I installed a 1st gen bridge kit on a 2nd gen with a 3 link. With 20's it was mighty close!
Just something to check when you get all the parts in.

Keep up the good work!

i did alot of reading on this.. i seen that when doing a 3 link, the bridge needs to be turned around, so the dif cover wont hit since everyone was having that problem.. also biggest tire ill go is a 18".. but i only have 15's on there now and dont plan on changin them for a while.. thanks though

Re: Project: Suicidal

started tearin the motor down for paint... block/heads gonna be chevy orange..

got the downpipe and muffler off.. through the whole summer whenever i turned my truck off, i could hear like a metal bolt rolling around and we always thought it was in the oil pan.. good news, it was only in the muffler and it was a ***** gettin it out.. the only thing this kinda bolt is used for was my bumper so iono how it got in the muffler..

this USED to be shiny brand new looking until the rear main went at the beggining of spring but i had it replaced when the new motor went in..

and the ugly ass downpipe which needs to be painted!
