Re: Project: Suicidal

ya i've been checking things.. when i put a test light on the plug for the fuel pump, and turn the key the light turns on.. so its getting power so maybe the pump itself is bad? i just went and spent 60bucks on a new one so hopefully it works.. and yes theres gas in the tank...

Re: Project: Suicidal

sorry i dont remember off the top of my head but when i run down there ill get the name..

well heres the pics.. the engine runs.. but not smooth or anythign.. i did have it almost smooth messing around with the timing but then this loud vacuum noise started up and we cant determine if its the intake or a vacuum line, and since the noise started the truck doesnt run to good.. but heres some pics..
Motor, yes i know looks like my old motor..

tilt bed and slammed in front..

i like this one..

and finally layin with the help of the engine weight..

also seen this at o'rileys and thought it was

Re: Project: Suicidal

is that a 3.4 you put in? if so did you swap your injectors out for the 4.3 injectors? i have never done the swap but have heard that the 3.4 runs better with the higher flow of the 4.3 injectors.

Re: Project: Suicidal

well i found the problem why it woudnt run right... everytime i got on it in first gear, at around mid rpm range it would hesitate and then kick back in.. well.. there wasnt enough gas in the tank so all the gas would keep swashing back and forth causing the problem.. but now since thats done its GREAT!! its alot quicker then the 2.8L was thats for sure.. otherwise i've been working all night trying to get the motor wires cleaned up and such, and so far its all good.. for the dragging not yet.. im making my first distant trip this coming sat. but other then that it will be just sticking around the area and making sure its not gonna poop out on me or anything

it just depends where you live and how anal the cops are, i drove my truck around here for 5 months with no bed on it but in some states i would have been pulled over and had it towed.

Re: Project: Suicidal

alright, spent the last few days installing another bag for the bed.. i've been meaning to do this but i havent bought the bag until a few days ago.. i was very very happy with the results, the bed now is completely level like it should be, the bed is no where close to rubbing the cab now and its alot stronger..
also got the rear support finally installed.. i've been dreading that for so long but it wasnt to bad.. looks way better i think and i moved the compressor to the other side so i could mount the bag..

Re: Project: Suicidal

well i got the itch to do some more draggin so i did.. this time is much much better then last since i can lay frame now.. but i used what was left of the trailor ball from last time.. well, went good going one way, turned around and was coming back i lifted the bed and as soon as i did i seen cops, so i thought o shit and lowered the bed.. once i started lowering i realized the valve stuck since its so humid and it caused all the air to go outta my tank and making the front end drop.. the cops went right by with my scraping and crap.. it wasnt a good feeling.. i got some good vid though
