Re: Project: Suicidal
from what i've seen on tilt beds, they only raise it with the bag, theres no struts or anything at all.. my main reason for using it is to keep the bed level when i lift it..

Re: Project: Suicidal
well has been a while since i've updated, i mostly this weekend got my tank and compressor mounted along with the horn.. and ran all the wires through the truck and into the back.. i still got to fine tune the horn but its all workin so far which is good.. i also bought some hinges for the tailgate so it will open like a door, im gonna get to work on that in a few..

Re: Project: Suicidal
alright got a big update.. first of all i decided i wanted my tailgate.. reason for this is becasue the blazer tailgate, on the inside edge theres to much of a gap, so i asked the kid if he would trade straight up with me and he gets the blazer tailgate and he said cool.. so i got to flatten this one out now and box a plate in.. and now hopefully suicidin the tailgate will be much easier..
![]() Next thing is i got the bed mounted down, so i can undo the bed and let it lift when i desire, or i can hold the bed down with "NO" rattles or movement at all of the bed.. i couldnt beleive how clean this went.. ![]() ![]() ![]() Also one last thing, i need to paint that rusty thing for my brakes, i think its the booster but idk, anyways can i take it off without having to re-bleed the brakes? no fluid is in thing right? sorry im not a guy that does stuff like that.. ![]() |

Re: Project: Suicidal
i know what you mean but the bed is all the way down.. the is not enough gap between the new brackets for the bed rails to come down into.. but i've had 4 people in there and the bed wont go down any farther.. and no the cotter pin isnt hold the bed down or up.. its just holding it in place

yes is should be resting on the metal but somehow it worked out so if i do goto cut the top of th brackets off then the bed will sit extremely uneven.. but i do get your point

Re: Project: Suicidal
alright.. well my stuff came in the mail.. i got my 2 valves finnaly, im very un-paisent lol. but one of the airfittings i got was the wrong size and then the other one was backordered.. so i ran to menards and got a few fittings that will get me by last night.. i spent bout an hour getting the valves in place and the wiring all good.. put the barb'ed fittings on for the airline and come to relize i got the wrong size so now the airline wont fit.. so now i got to make a trip back and get the right size.. i was so un-happy last night lol but its alright, everything else is working good.. also got the gas door shaved fully now. i got pics but im just gonna wait to put everything up till 2night and hopefulyl have a vid to..

Re: Project: Suicidal
well turns out one of the valves didnt wanna work so i called sd and they hooked me up with a new valve free of charge which is awsome.. I LOVE YOU SD!! lol well also got the bed primered up 2night and bought a new air gauge.. i bought this one becasue its so small, bout the size of a quater, and i can install it wherever i want without having to worry about it being in the way or anything..

Re: Project: Suicidal
first of all there was a big crease in teh bottem of the door for the like 2nd week i had the truck.. i needed to replace it becasue of that, then the underneith of the door is just horribly cover in rust thats gone through... the bottem was reskined but wasnt aligned right so when the doors shut, its stick out more then it should.. so im just gonna make it easy and buy a new door lol.. look at the bottem of the door and u know what im tlkin bout.. it was way worse in person

Re: Project: Suicidal
Hey that round thing you were talking about is the brake booster. Pull the master cylinder off the front of it, and let the brakelines support it. You'll be able to pull the booster out without having to re-bleed the system. I've swapped out a few boosters without bleeding the system. If anyone tells you different they're lost.
But bleeding the brakes really isnt hard at all. Just takes 2 people. |

Re: Project: Suicidal
well i'de decided today was gonna be a bodywork day.. so i started doin the fine sanding on the cab and whatever else needs it.. im still tryin to decided it i wanna finish the gas door or not.. also im tryin to decide how i wanna do the rear end.. im thinkin leavin the orignal tailgate how it is and molding the license plate box in there without the tailgate skin, and then moldin it all to one peice.. i wanna do this without the skin becasuei jsut dont like how it looks, i just think its to plain back there.. ill have some pics up 2night hopefully

Re: Project: Suicidal
first of all the bed doesnt hit the cab, theres a bout a 2inch gap between them.. the reason of the bed being so croocked is where the bags located, and also rem the tailgate isnt on so that gives it that less of support back there.. hopefully the struts will fix this problem.
