Re: (Project) Smoothing Interior Slowly

A "smoothing" project or "how to" shouldn't need progress reports. Just do all the work, then post a complete thread.

I would like to see the end result though.

Re: (Project) Smoothing Interior Slowly

So i know these arent the best supplies to use but they fall in my budget and, As long as i take my time and do the job right, It will turn out good i believe.

Here are some Misc. pieces layed out some have been sanded some havent some have the first step of priming and sanding done, about three more times of prime&sand Prime&sand and those parts will be able to start the paint. But Ive decided im gonna just sand everything completely smooth before i start primeing again. Keep in mind these arent half the peices that will be done.

That not how everyone does it, DO they?
I thought they posted new threads as there progressed.
Cause ive seen people type, "looking good cant wait to see when its finished"
So whats up with that if thats how your "suppose to do so"?

wow well i dont know dont listen to him man

cant wait to see some progress on it since this is a project and you are a member lol. should looks sick when your done.

only thing i would say is this is mostly for like updates on the whole truck not just one thread for one thing(if that makes sense). most people have one thread updating on anything they do to the truck. this might be better off in the interior forms but i wouldnt worry about it at all if nobody moves it.

Well here is the door with the panel took out, I started sanding it today so i should have teh sanding done by tomorrow...Hopefully

Here is a couple other peices being worked on, I was thinking about leaveing the entire jack and jack cover out of the truck, but I dont want to get a flat and be screwed so I'm probably just gonna smooth it as well.

Here is a peice in the sanding process.

Well thats some of what im got!

Re: (Project) Smoothing Interior Slowly

Well after months of work im still not done. lot of the sanding is done though. Ive just kinda sat this project aside and picked up about 5 more but heres a small update on it, finally got the dash and vents done. finally after three months of it sitting in garage.

Sorry thought I had pics of vents done too. Ill post some tonight with the vents in though. They are satin black and set the piece off so well it dont look to good without the vents in so check back tonight.

Re: (Project) Smoothing Interior Slowly

how is your sanding process? I'm currently starting out with 60 grit then 80, then 120, then 220, then prime, sand at 300.

No Complaints so far. ITs held up great for me. I put multiple coats and clear coats on so We'll see how it holds in the upcoming year. I also park in my garage to so the only time its in the sun is when Im at work and im usually under a parking cover thing. Its been a while since ive updated so here is what it looks like now.

and the door is done. Yes only one, The other will be done in another few months. lol im working on the suspention so dont care to much about the interior at this point. Some day it will be done.

Sorry about the huge pics, to lazy to shrink them.. Enjoy

The T199 is what I used for my phantom grille shell and my 98 bumper, and new drivres fender. Holds up well! My spare fell out so I put it in the bed, it was the first piece that I painted with the t199 and clear to see how it would hold up. It's been 6 months and everything is still cool!
