Re: [Project] Slow Motion...
I don't care for the chrome handles, if I was you I'd get the 94-97 smooth ones and paint them, it'd look much better.

Re: [Project] Slow Motion...
Honestly I just like things to match and look clean.
I've installed keyless entry on mine and have all 4 reg. handles (Key holes up front and keyless in the back) But I also have 2 extra keyless ones. Been thinking about just installing a 4 keyless ones and painting them... |

Re: [Project] Slow Motion...
well i have a vision for the truck, if it turns out how it is in my head...it should be clean and simple lol. if not, or if i get too much s*** for them, then i may consider painting the stocks or something else

Re: [Project] Slow Motion...
i think the chrome door handles get bad reviews because they look like too much "bling" and they are tacky. I love my color matched handles. I'd rather have them color matched than even shaved.
Looks like good progress though so far. Can't wait to see it painted and with the drop kit on! I am doing my rollpan the same way you did too! |

I have had shaved handles and painted handles. I like both about the same.

Re: [Project] Slow Motion...
Just remember to either have him prime the backside really damn good or you do it when you get it back. Then put a lot of under body coating over that. they tend to rust bad.

Anyways, I agree with the welded in and smoothed pan. It looks great. My pan is sitting in the garage, just waiting to get it welded in when I take the truck for paint over the winter. |

Re: [Project] Slow Motion...
I dont like chrome I have always been a color matched guy, but I do think it can be nicely done with a few accents. Rims, door handles, and the chrome front bumper would set it off nice.

Re: [Project] Slow Motion...
looks great man!!! It will definitely look better once it's lowered! lol
I love the paint though. very cool! Edit: question... did he sand and smooth the front valence before he painted? it looks good. Hope it holds up to stone chips and stuff. Last edited by Kovz : 08-04-2008 at 11:08 AM. |

Re: [Project] Slow Motion...
make sure you take out the top bolt in the inner fenders. It is directly above the tire. It will gouge your tire if you hit big bumps in the road. Just take it out and no problems after that.

Re: [Project] Slow Motion...
if those tires that you have on those wheels are still good, ask to keep them and sell em, if not... don't worry about it. if you make $100 of the tires, i say you did well.
can't wait to see this thing making a better relationship with concrete. |
