[Project] Second go around

Well i had my truck almost exactly where i wanted it. All i was really lacking was a roll pan and some mirrors from it being how i wanted it. Here is how it looked...

Now starts the bad luck... After a nice dose of acid rain?? i guess the clear coat started to peel, then someone came around a corner in my lane and hit the front.

Then a drunk acquintance (sp?) hit the bed behind the drivers side rear wheel. (no pics) And i broke my nose too! But that doesnt have to do with my truck lol. So anyways, after collecting from insurance, im really going to make it exactly how i want it this time!

I'm shaving everything, except for maybe the doors. And getting a new grille, lights and everything. Stick with me for my project! lol

Ouch. Nice little project. But shaving the handles is a big part of shaving everything. I say do it.

Re: [Project] Second go around

Well i started on a little bit, relocating the gas cap to the inside of the bed. Here's the first without all the sides...

And here is the box all welded up, grinded down, and a little body filler added...

Will be primered tomorrow after a little more bodywork!

Re: [Project] Second go around

Welded in the filler plate for the gas tank lid, got it body filler'd. Just for the hell of it here's a pic before i sanded the filler lol...

I only get to work on the truck very little, because im a Senior in high school and its football season! woot!

Re: [Project] Second go around

Well i got the whole bed primed, the clear was coming off, so i stripped it down pretty good and primered it after getting the gas lid shaved.

And i finished the inside where i relocated the gas cap. The bodywork isn't perfect, but I actually use my bed so i expect it to get a little wear anyways.

I dont even think anyone looks at my project thread after i actually started lol.

Re: [Project] Second go around

Ha, yeah its relocated to the inside. I just haven't welded in the filler plate in the tailgate. Today I shaved the antenna and have it primed, and I welded in the hood pissers. I'll get pics up of progress asap!

Re: [Project] Second go around

Well heres the pic's of the shaved antenna..

And i got a new drivers side fender... luckily it matched

Yet the bumper doesnt match lol.... And i sanded down a lot of the hood.

And BAD LUCK strikes again!!!!!!!
I didnt think it would happen to me.....I was working on shaving the 3rd brake light....well i'm sure you know what happened!

But the brake light is no more, and looks pretty good

I'm really starting to move a little faster on this project, but im still taking my time to do it right.

Re: [Project] Second go around

UPDATE!!!
I got the hood done. FINALLY! This was a hard one! The hood is some thin SH*T! But here's the pics!

Got more updates on the way, prolly around monday or so. I have a GM roll pan, and im going to shave the license plate lights and make it look a lot better. Then shave the tailgate handle and finish the rear end.
I'm thinking about Hot Rod Flatz Speed Blue.
Would look SECKSEE on some black 20's.

Re: [Project] Second go around

Well got an update. Shaved the license plate lights on the GM pan, and i even sealed up the hole where the spare tire rod? goes through to let the spare down. Plan on bagging later on so no need for it. Anyways...
Before...

After...

Got the body work done today, hopefully be primered by tomorrow.
Will have more pics up soon!

Re: [Project] Second go around

My stuff is so bad noone will even hate it!
HA! anyways, I decided to shave the mirrors, and im going to do motorcycle mirrors. I know i know, its played out. But where im from noone has this, and I had not really seen it before til about a year ago...anyways i know all you want to see is pics, so here goes....

But after i get this done, THERE IS MORE WORK TO BE DONE....AGAIN. Where the nutsack backed into me before...well i got that fixed....
It looked good until an 8 point buck decided to charge my truck while im driving down the road. Pics tomorrow! Its f**kin rediculous!

Re: [Project] Second go around

Dang sorry to hear the bad luck but you've been making great progress. Honestly after all of the hard shit I've had to deal with, all the crap on my trucking breaking, I love the thing to death. It's just unexplainable, today I drove two hours with no heat on the freeway in the rain, in 35* weather to Chicago, with a bad heater core, so every 15 minutes the windows were rolled down to let the humidity out because it'd build up and make everything foggy. I have such an immense bond with my truck it's rediculous.

Any more drop in the future? Trucks looking good. The mirror fillers are a hard task I think to make perfect, thats why I havent done it yet. If your wanting a new lexan window get ahold of me I have an FBI membership, could get it cheap.
