Project: Revived love
Ill start by saying that ive completely let my truck go. I havnt had an interest in it for some time now. Just recently I caught the bug again and started spending more time on it. My head gasket blew so I decided this was my chance to put it down for awhile and do some work to it.
Right now im starting to tub it for 20s keeping stock lowers and a/c. ill get tubular uppers eventually. ![]() ![]() First attempt at making my own fillers and shaving. A little rough but I think it'll be fine. ![]() How the interior looks now, I want to paint it and get the upper door sections covered in a black vinyl. ![]() Re wrap the dash and black vinyl and make a center console. ![]() Raised sheet metal bed and tail skin. Im not sure why people black out the license plate but i did it just incase... ![]() ![]() Here are the grandam vents glassed in. Need filler still ![]() Shaved antenna. Used part of the inner fender as a fill plate ![]() ![]() Last edited by Phontain : 08-11-2008 at 11:04 PM. |

Re: Project: Revived love
Although it dosnt seem like much, ive made a lot of progress these past couple days. It's been a lot of cutting, mounting the tire, jacking it up, marking where it hits and more cutting.
Heres my clearence on the firewall tub. Its not quite an entire fingers width. I dont think it is enough room so ill cut a little more. ![]() ![]() its about 1/4" from the ground.. im pretty sure it's laying on the exhaust pipe and the upper ball joint is stretched out like a mofo. Im hesitant to weld everything together if its not completely on the ground tho. Id hate to do all this work and come up short by a half inch or something. ![]() |

Re: Project: Revived love
looking good man. i think a buddy of mine and i are going to work on dehumping my lowers tomorrow. im like you, keeping stock lca's, getting tubular uppers, notching frame for tie rods and tubbing firewall. im wanting to keep the ac as well, for a just incase, even though i never use it. got to figure out what im going to do for a brake booster though. id like to have hydroboost.

Re: Project: Revived love
It's a good thing I dont do this for a living. It takes forever to get the smallest bit of progress. I had the day off so I spent the entire day working on the truck. The majority of the time was spent getting the pipe to fit into the frame. Making clean strait cuts would have made this a hell of a lot easier. I just cut a little bit here and there until i had clearance. I have a feeling the other side will be a lot faster/smoother.
![]() Tub has been trimmed back and welded for the most part, Ill get a better picture tomorrow ![]() |
