Re: Project: [relaxednoma]

Took the truck to CnD as planned, pulled a top 50 which surprised the hell out of me lol. Felt damn good to drive it there and back, and cruise it around.

Re: Project: [relaxednoma]

I checked out the truck at the show (and the seats lol) but didn't get a chance to say hi (mainly because I don't know what you look like and never saw you near it, and the one time I saw you driving it I was riding in the back of somebody's truck going a different way).

Hopefully I'll be able to make it to either KOIM or Dropt to be able to actually meet you one of these days

GAH! totally forgot lol. I cruised it only a bit, 3 times or so in the evening, other than that, we were in my buddies indigo blue 2500HD on 20x10's and 38 inch toyo's. was fun being eye level (oh man!)

nope, just engine mounts! bahaha!

but it will be an LM7 5.3, cammed, headers, nice exhaust, electric cutouts etc.

And I'll paint, powder and billet everything I can get my hands on!

What's this.... when are we taking her apart?.... I think I know a guy who knows a guy who might know a guy that has a LM7 5.3 that is itching to go into a pewter s10....

Re: Project: [relaxednoma]

Maybe some 22" billets as well? Maybe some 22x16's in the rear for that added traction?

I'm thinking sooner than later, simply because since I'm skipping cavalcade and the front end has to come apart to relocate underhood etc, might as well right? you know that guy!? i hear he's got some cool shi!! lol

lol, oh hell. no no, 20x10's will eventually go out back, moving the 18's to the front. it's the most cost effective route I can go with the engine actually being a legit option

Re: Project: [relaxednoma]

You're right, cost effective is key. I will allow a 22x12 in the rear as it will be cheaper and easier to find tires. I would just do the stockfloor at the same time.

Re: Project: [relaxednoma]

^ lol totally missed that.

So the plans in the works are swapping in the 5.3 into the sonoma, with a mild cam.

LS2 Manifold obtained, probably going to bite the bullet and just buy the headers, keep getting miffed around with this local fella on these shorty headers.

and I'll just leave this here

Figured it was logical I finally do so right?

new motor you say?

LS2 manifold obtained. $45 snag from CL. major props to Josh for coming accross it and passing it along to me. Hella win
Nifty background story though, it's off a 12,000 mile RA6 SEMA GTO. Thing is pretty wicked.

Awaiting some billet fuel rails (lol) and other odds and ends.

yeah I'm pretty stoked.

And bigger wheels are certainly going to be obtained.

Once the motor swap is complete, and dialed in and I'm happy with all that stuff, I'll be going after rollers. I will always want a set of 18/20 BAD rockstars for it, of which there's a local guy that has a set. But he'll never come off of them.

I have always wanted and will probably chase a set of Intro Vista's or VRods. Vistas are my all time favorite wheel however. If I'm satisfied with no rocker on ground, then I would say a set of 20's or a 20/22 combo would fit the bill, but that's TBD lol

I have do have to say that i do forsee the truck eventually being stockfloored most likely.

If / when that does happen, it'll be with a fresh front frame clip, build chassis and then swap everything over.

I know I'll change my mind somewhat here and there, but the goal for the truck has always been V8 swapped (which changed to the LSx motor when folks started using them).

I also have the hankerin' for a late 50's Chevy/GMC truck, so that's a driving force that will be after this is driving with the motor and wheels.

cost = donate time working on the sonoma when the engine swap is in full effect (aka lay the front out and tub for 20's baha)

ran into these on eBay from procomp, might as well right?

Oh, touche' good sir.

Mr. Jhart happened to scout that a set of billets were for sale, albeit in Cali, but for sale, and of very much large importance to me.

I was able to secure them, and they are currently sitting @ ///Juan's house in Cali awaiting to be picked up to be sent to kentucky.

So after years of searching and missing out, i scored my unicorn wheels.

18/20 combo just as i wanted.

i be a happy mofo!
