re: Project: Please MTV... Gimp My Ride!

Honestly I've been using this tread to help me piece together my setup on my 99 ext cab. All I can say is that gimp you kick ass bro and you built the truck I've been dreaming of building for many years now. I will too be starting a thread of my built but it prolly won't be as bad ass as yours lol. ? On your build tho, with that SD 3 link, what did u set your pinoin angle at on the rear end? Did you get it wih the super pivot joints? How do you like that setup cuz Im gonna buy the same 3 link. I'm also curious on your front setup, are u running stock ball joints? If so have you noticed any binding when layed out? Thanks

re: Project: Please MTV... Gimp My Ride!

Jabber1josh, are you slow? The title of this thread begins "project". Obviously this thread is for someones build. If you wanted to show off a shitty photo chop of your shitty truck there's an entire thread called "most hacked and ugly shit" that is dedicated to pictures of vehicles like yours. I know I'm being a dick, but you're being an idiot. Which on this forum is the equivalent of surrendering of your rights to be treated fairly.

re: Project: Please MTV... Gimp My Ride!

haha I disapeer for a few hrs to toss in some 8's and come back to a shalacking!!! well done fellas! WELL DONE! jabber you had that coming pal. Not quite sure what you were thinking posting up a pic in my thread. No hard feelings but you gotta be something pretty stupid to associate my username with a software program and then think its time to post up your pics because you used it too.. HaHa funny shit!
@JUGHEAD no superpivots, my balljoints are PP, and i wish i had went with the 5 link long ago instead of just the 3 link and behind and under brackets. lift SUCKS and ride was crappy on 2600 bags but now that I have SS8's installed rides like a dream. Could be alot better if it were bag on bar 5 link.
Plan to build rear bars myself after fall

So who likes more pics? cause i wasnt about to be staring at a set of 8's on the coffee table all night lol. For someone running no shocks in the rear who friggin needs them.. I still do need to get on that tho but the SS8's ride beautifullly! Like day and night compared to my 2600 Doms. I didnt gain but 1" of lift but the ride quality is superb and for what I paid for them Im happy and can be right now with these beasts. I only wish I had just installed them on a 5 link instead of in behind and under brackets
oh and come to find out today. my front pass side bed mount is F'd and my bed is sagging a bit. yippeee

few more from today

How did you use a chop saw to cut them down? Wouldn't that cut off the center bolt that mounts them into the spring pocket?

I made the cuts off the bottoms of the cups not the top where the main center mounting bolt is.
Apon some more measuring today im actually 1" from layin up front so I just might try to get my booster and master done this weekend then tackle the trans crossmember next weekend.

I guess I'm still not following. The bottom of the upper cup? Or do you have lower cups and stock arms and the lower cups are what you cut down? If that's the case, do you have floating lowers? Because most of the lower cups I've ever seen have bolts/studs in them too that bolt them to the lower arms

yea my bad man. some late night drinks and improper typing ill say in my last response to you. should have said lower cups, and yes dehumped lowers, not plated with floating cups not bolt in.
but still plan to trim the upper cups the same way i did my lowers and just take the bolts out when in the shop saw
