Re: Project name: The project...

Computered died so this update is from my phone. Not exactly easy.. but anyhow, I had to move the trick last month so it forced my hand to reassemble it despite not being ready. I threw some flat white on her so I it's all one color in a massive rush. A ten footer for sure but I love the way it looks. Bed still needs to cone down another 3/4-1" but the outside is basically what I've been thinking. Still a few things that will be altered later as time allows, per the norm.

It's going to be a long time before it's going to be finished but I will keep chipping away at my master piece little by little. My attention is currently leaning towards the camaro since I've been using it a lot more lately.

I've always liked the simple look of those wheels.

Some shiny paint would really do that truck well.

Re: Project name: The project...

not much of an update, but something interesting happened so i thought id share.

i washed the truck, half assed polished the wheels just to see what 20 minutes of polishing would do, and added the lower billet grill to the envoy bumper.

i then went inside to grab the camera to take a quick picture and saw this little guy crawling under the truck.

its a spiny soft shell turtle, it thought my truck was so bad ass it needed a closer look.

i appreciate constructive criticism. i like the wind deflectors. they will most likely stay unless they become a problem somehow or i chop the top. but chopping it is not even in the visible future so...

Re: Project name: The project...

getting it running is priority at this point. ive been buying small parts here and there but until i get it running i will not invest any money into the customizing it any further. so to answer your question, not right now. after its running and moving, probably, along with a few other things i will address once it comes to paint. still pisses me off that i cant drive it, all because of that damn firewall...

If he's planning on coilovers those rear bars are going to get in the way unless he moves the shocks inboard. Piosonally I'd move the rear bars and like Gimp said triangulate with the forward mount on a reinforced gas tank cross member. They would have to shortened and I would mount them to where the bags presently are mounted. It would also make setting pinion angle easier and more precise.

Re: Project name: The project...

actually i have a three link i will be installing. as for the rear coilovers they will stay were they are until i actually get to drive it. i have been thinking about leaving the rear bags in for when i am towing around trailers as an added support. the current location is fine for daily driving as i have driven pro street cars with wide tires out back with the springs even closer to the center housing and they drove fine. i will adjust as needed once its been on the road for a while. maybe ditch the whole leaving the rear bags in and end up relocating the coilovers as close to the frame as possible for maximum dampening. time will tell, i am in no rush.

Re: Project name: The project...

Dude I frickin' love the wheels, I think the size and backspacing are so perfect I love your concept too, taking a bagged truck utilizing the link setup and swapping out the air for coilovers, brilliant dude, hope you find the cash and motivation to finish it.

Re: Project name: The project...

no update. pile of parts, still motivated, just lacking the time. project is not dead, just in a very deep hibernation, lol. i am looking into a house some time around the fall season with a garage. any updates will most likely happen after that. my game plan for the truck is basically finished. might tweak a few things as i go, but ultimately, its built in my head. just need the time to finish it.

Re: Project name: The project...

well i guess one update would be, i replaced the front tires with lower profile tires, so the truck actually sits pretty even now. but still plan on dropping it further with the coilovers later on down the road.

Looks good man, I love the step side trucks.
I know all about the waiting. Mine sat for 12 years before I got started on it. Sucked but never got rid of it ha
