No matter what when that bed goes back on I know that if will look and the paint will be flawless so don't worry about it. I just want to pictures of it at the show in MD with the 1st place trophy next to it.

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

ya im still going to show. im definitly highly upset about the whole thing. im gonna feel kinda dumb showing without a bed. it isnt the type of show that people would be like cool look at the suspension. imstead it is going to be like where the fuuck is his bed? For the show I had to even sign a contract stating that none of the vehicles my club brings in will have any thing in primer, so im not sure how they are going to respond to me not having half the truck there....hopefully i can explain to them that it is cool to have the bed off to showoff the chassis. But there are only 3 clubs showing in this show, bringing 10 cars each. so this isnt the type of show that is what everyone is used to. we are just a feature of the show, the majority of the show is for all the dealerships to show off their new 2008 models. we are just part of "aftermarket alley".

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

thanks guys....i appreciate the kind words, im just still really bummed about it. I think at this point what sucks the most is after my friend in another car club saw how I did my dump bed, he has me assist in makin his show dakota be a dump bed. and he too will be at the motortrend show. so i got my dump bed working and on before he even began his, i then helped him do his, and now im not going to have mine at the show and he is going to have his done. isnt that shitty?

wow that is shitty. sucks cause then people that dont know that fact may think that after you get yours on that you are coping his dump bed.

ya thats why it sucks so much. I did it first!! and i even helped him design what he needed to do his. i told him exactly what to order through suicidedoors and everything, helped him figure out the brackets needed and everything!!! and now im gonna look like the copy cat to those who dont know me.

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

Damn Adam, that sucks. Looks like we're in the same boat, cause I was sick this weekend, and didn't even get to work on mine. I was at least hoping to get to drool over yours. Any chance Eric will have the bed done by the 5th? Is it just a time issue where he doesn't have the time to finish it, or is there that much left to do?

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

there wasnt ever a ton of work to do on it, not that it was a small job, but it wasnt like 100s of hours of work or anything close to that. He just doesnt have the free time to be doing all the side work he has taken on. there is no way he can have it done in time. because he still hasnt sheetmetaled the back of the cab which means he hasnt done any body filler. and when he does body work he likes to not paint it for 2 or 3 weeks to allow the primer/bodyfiller to shrink/expand then he blocks it down again then he will paint it. well we dont have 2-3 weeks by any means at this point, and ontop of that Line-X needs it for 2 days. so there is no way it can be done at this point.

Damn, man that sucks. Nothing like MT to put your balls in a vice. I have pushed it the last 2 years, and still haven't learned my lesson. I'll see you at the show, and we can go cry in the corner, lol.
