I was riding in my buddies bagged sierra once it was done without the bed (was getting painted) and some dude at a stop light asked if his 12 gal tank was NOS.... lol |

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
you should really think about coming to Midwest dragfest, that is the shit, but its like mid summer and its proabably pretty far for you, but ill hopefully be there and at s series nats, and hoping for ITB also. i just decided today ill be taking everything on my truck apart and redetailing everything so i dont have to take the bed off all over again so im pretty sure itll be done by summer but well have to see. you inspire me though, im sure i speak on behalf of many people saying that adam, this thread is amazing as with all of your work!! keep it up man, this thing is more then magazine material, but then again so is alot of other stuff i have seen, but never ends up in there, but they put trucks with 2 links and stuff that looks mangled together in there but whatever..its cool, some stuff in it is decent, i more or less get it to see ads and see the how tos and the show stuff, dont really look at the features unless its a dime or it seems decent. well like i said later man, keep it up!!!

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
I did get the fix figured out. I went to the local Parker store and figured out what I need. the 1/2IF to 5 AN fit without bottoming out before it would seal like the old fitting i was using. so i need to buy some of those fittings which are like $6.50 each. but then i need a 5an to 4 an adapter now, and they are like $19 a piece!!!! so what im going to do it this, buy 2 of each of those fittings to fix the leak at the master cylinder connection. Then instead of buying 2 of each of those fittings for all 3 of the Residual Pressure Valves (RPVs) I bought new Wilwood RPVs for $18/piece and this has 1/8" NPT on BOTH ends. so i only need to be a $1.10 fitting for that end now. So by buying new RPVs with different fitting ends I am actually saving a few bucks, and getting a brand name RPV instead of these generic RPVs. Only catch is that Parker only had 1 fitting of one of them so they had to order more....so it might come by friday and there is also a chance it may not. so the ability to drive it this weekend is all dependent on how long it takes them to get the fitting. and also my summit order for the new RPVs to get here, but that stuff comes in 2-3 days MAX. and i guess it is also dependent on if i find any other problems before deaming safe to drive on public roads. |

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
ya, im just happy a solution was figured out, cuz i didnt know what to do about the problem originally. i gotta tell you though, reaching in my pocket and paying for all this stuff is getting really old. im SO done with spending on this project lol. i want to try and start saving some money for once, but im not going to cheap out on anything after coming all this way, so that is why im still opening the wallet. i just cant wait for it to be done, driveable, showable, and enjoyable

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
allright so tonight i wired up the AVS 12 channel remote/key fob deally that came with the door popper kit and all. And if you remember I found out a few months ago that AVS now makes their switch boxes with remote dump and remote fill outputs as of July, so i sold my old switchbox and bought a new one with both remote fill and dump. so anyways i simply hooked up two extra channels from the 12 channel key fob deally to the switchbox, and i now have a key fob that not only will open my shaved doors, but will also lift and drop all 4 corners from like 1000 feet away!!!! badass! and this didnt cost me a penny extra since i allready needed a switchbox and the door popper key fob. best free mod EVER

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
how do you know for sure you have this option. i have a 9 switch and it has an outlet for remote dump, but i don't see a remote fill. just one that says (not used). i'm sure mine doesn't allow that.

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
each corner is overkill. i just want to be able to park....get out of the truck, walk like 50 feet away and be able to drop it....and do vis-versa when about to get in the truck. now i need remote start for the engine and ill be set haha

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
I <3 my billet switchbox. oh by the way i believe it is ONLY the 9 switch switchboxes, the 7s dont have these options. but you have to consult AVS to be certain

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
youre going to love the kit from them. have had it for about a year now, havent had any problems with it what so ever that wasnt my fault or the fault of someone who doesnt understand that when the keys are inside with the windows up, you cant get back in. great product, and easy to install. worth the extra money. and i could see this helping me. i park next to a curb at my girls house, so i wouldnt be able to lay it out and be able to open my door. id have to park, get out, then air out. sounds like a good plan to me!

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
Ever thought about picking up an alarm with like 4 aux channels or so and not even run the extra key fob? You can pop each door and still do your remote dump/fill option off the alarm remote from 1-mile away? Just an Idea...
You will need to wire up 2 relays though for the remote dump/fill on the after market alarm. But either way i can't wait to see your truck done u have inspired me to get everything together and get it done! Killer work! |
