Re: [Project] Living up to my username

Oh ya! like a kid in a candy store. I came home and saw 5 boxes in the garage and then did one of these

OMG its SO sexy. Pictures dont do it justice! this blue is SO sexy!!!!!!

SO much packing stuff lol. must have spent $50 in packing supplies. Go SD

didnt get much at all done really. Just removed the battery box and all the wiring associated with that stuff, jacked the truck up, cleaned out part of the garage to make room for parts.

and just so u guys can see it since it was mentioned these are the 2 group 31 batteries that will be powering the oasis.(compared to regular size car battery)

Tomorrow i should be able to unhook my LED lights in the roll pan, all my neon lights and be able to get the bed off and put that on blocks and sit it in the driveway and ill use the bed as storage for the duration of the project. i am only gonna have like 3-4 hours a day that im able to work on this stuff during the week guys, so bare with me here.....im not gonna be able to bang this out real quick like some of you are able to

yup, i ordered them like 2 months ago so i was able to get them before the price increase. But I dont even think mine have been made yet cuz im waitin on them to figure out the sway bar mounts thing. I wanna be able to run a sway bar and SD has been researching the whole sway bar mount thing so its in the works and I have enough stuff to keep me busy for while, so hopefully by the time im ready to install the front stuff SD has designed the sway bar mount setup and ill be able to get them. If they take a long time to get it straightened out then i might just say fock it and get em without sway bar mounts.

Do you think your gunna have to notch the front frame for steering? If so look into the new "no-notch" kit from barely legal. It looks baller and should work like a dream

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

Have fun trying to tub the bed with that Line-X in there. That shit is a 1/4" thick in some spots. I did it on a truck a little while back and it was a bitch to get through it to bare metal. Cutting through it isn't too bad to make the hole, but grinding to bare clean metal..............different story. Try using a 36grit sanding disc on an angle grinder. I found that ate right through it. And, get plenty of them. Oh, get ready for a crazy black dust mess when you do it.

Parts are looking good. Get started.

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

the rims are 9.5" wide. i wish they were only 9" but they arent so oh well. If I turn the wheel all the way it will rub the frame, so i just make wide U turns but other then that never had a problems with the 22s (except the bumpy as hell ride lol)

yeah he use to have supra tails in his rollpan, i think his user name on here is mccord.

but he has clear caddy tails in his truck now. i remember back a few years ago before i met him, i always seen his truck at leonardtown highschool when i was picking up a female. and i always made fun of it because it was stock height and just had clear s10 tail lights on it. then i found out who drove it.

but yeah his truck has come a very long way. i only wish i coiuld have that kind of time, motivation and money when i was in highschool.

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

i just checked out the blf no cut tie rods they look pretty nice but they look like it would be a pain in the ass to align (sp) and for 360 dollars i would just notch my frame i did my notches to clear 22's with easy and only took about 3-4 hours from start to finish.............. just a thought tho
