Re: [Project] Living up to my username
the thought had crossed my mind to do it. Its not in the scope of this project, but I would do it before I got a paint job. I have a friend who did his 03 s10, so I know he could help me. I dunno...kind of think the truck might be way too busy with suicide hood, lambo doors, dump bed, and a bed cover. The truck has always been nice and clean when all closed up, but whenever i open it up for acar show i allready feel its too busy with the lambo doors and just the bed cover. Its going to look like a transformer or some shit hahaha

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
on a side note last night while moving jacks around and everything, i got th etruck to lay bed sides/roll pan hahaha. I was literally tucking centercap of the wheels in the back(oh ya i got the wheels on after those pics were taken). it looked SO crazy awesome. Maybe tonight ill move the jacks again to get the rear slammed and take a picture of tucking the 22s, it looked SICK

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
Have you tried lifting the bed while the wheels are on yet? Just wondring what kind of clearance you get. Also can you lift yours with it laid out? I know I can on my first gen but I don't have the xtreme kit either.

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
i didnt hit a crazy side but i did a little bit. basically th conclusion is the dump bed works haha. if there is one position of the suspension that limits the bed from lifting, then i plain and simply make sure i put the truck to a height where i can dump the bed first, then air out the truck. its not like im going to be driving with the bed dumped, sounds like im asking for shit to break doing that haha

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
the latch was figured out the day i saw the red s10 at carlisle 3 weeks ago and i decided to do it. I ordered a bear claw latch and selenoid from SD, and the latch will mount infront of the gas tank crossmember, and the pin that goes into the latch will be mounted to one of the bed's crossmembers. The selenoid gets wired to the lift valve so when i dump the bed with the switch, the latch opens automatically. Now i just need to get the latch, Dave said it is coming from Oregon so its going to take like a week to get here. there was a mis understanding so the selenoid didnt get ordered when i ordered the rest of the stuff.

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
and if you thought those pics were badass....how about these.... (sorry for all the pics, i know 1 or 2 could do the job just fine but this shit is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! i couldnt pic my favorite so i posted them all!!!! )![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() i didnt try it cuz i didnt have anyone to help lift it, but by the looks of it if i have the truck slammed like this, the tilt bed wont work, it will hit the tire in the front of it. no biggie. tilt the bed, then slam the truck, simple solution. |

Re: [Project] Living up to my username
thanks everyone! i love looking at the rim tucking in the back, i cant stop looking at the pics of it. and what real sucks is the bed has to come back off because nothing is 100% in the back, this definitiyl was just to check things out and mock up to make sure i didnt go to far with a problem. But i seem to be good, with no real issues.
