Re: [Project] Living up to my username

Allright guys, i dunno about the rest of the country but here in Maryland we currently have a freakin heat wave thing going on. I dont know the actual official daytime high, but at 6:00 on the news they were shooting live infront of one of the bank signs and it said 100 degrees! and thats even at 6....so ya its way too hot to want to work on the truck, especially condsidering this is Maryland and we have like 100% humidity which makes it so much worse. I had some other things non truck related to do tonight after work, and same for tomorrow. Ill give it a shot working on it Wednesday but by thursday temperatures will begin to go back to normal and I have the whole weekend ahead of me with no other prior commitments so i should get the frame painted and be able to reinstall all the new parts for their final resting place once last time. So ya bear with the no progross for a few days while i pussy out of the 100 degree & humidy weather haha

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

hahaha, but i have things to do also. Tonight i had to go to my brothers house(just bought it hasnt moved in yet) to go run some wires for Cable TV before furniture comes in, and tomorrow is girlfriend time(we all know how that goes haha). Then from there on is all time for the truck(for this week anyways)...girlfriend is going to the ocean this weekend so there shouldnt be anything keeping me from kicking ass with progress towards the end of this week

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

Ive said it before and I'll say it again. Your girlfriend needs to understand that to be able to roll around in a kick ass ride, she needs to make some sacrifices.

Maybe even fall to the back burner for a lil while, when you need to relieve some stress, she needs to offer up the booty, then step back down.

Bitches just dont get it...

I hear ya. Its hot as hell here too. I was in D.C. a couple weeks back and it was hot as hell so I know the heat wave you're getting. Not fun. Midwest is getting cooked too. But,,,,,,no excuses. Get your ass out there and sweat. Its the only way things will get done. Its not going to get any cooler for a while, lol. Not till fall at least.
Keep a cooler of ice water out there in the garage. Thats what i do. And get a fan too.
I've dropped 5 pounds in the last 2 weeks just sweating.

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

It worked fine for BLAZNDUBS, it would work better for you since your cab is much smaller (than that of a blazer)

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

The only difference is that the blazer cab sits further back a couple inches on the frame than the S10 cab does. Hopefully it shouldn't make a difference.

Ive made my decision a while back, no sway bar for me and i will run shocks if i feel i want to after driving on it, ive heard people say that with RE7s u dont NEED shocks in the front, they ride pretty decent even without shocks. if i had RE6s up front no doubt in my mind would i run shocks
Yeah i know your not going to be running a sway bar. I wasn't really trying to bring that up at all. I had my truck bagged in the front for two years before i ended up body dropping it. I ran fbss and no sway bar, no shocks.... I started out with 2b6's, then i had the rs 72's (older version of the slam re7's). It rode decient and better with the slams but every vehicle needs shocks imo. basically the thing literal road like a boat. you hit a bump and the truck would absorb the bump 10 times instead of once. the slam bags did help somewhat but you should still run shocks. i guess having it as a daily driving and getting into a normal car is what it feel like shit.... maybe you won't really care if your not driving it every day. The reason why i went with shocks and a swaybar this time is because i rode in a few trucks with the both of them and holy shit it was 100% better then any other bagged truck i rode in before. a lot of people bag their trucks and never get a chance to go for a ride in something a ittle bit different with bags.... I guess to me it was worth the extra time, and after selling my extra valves i didn't need any more money to but the sway bar stuff and the shock stuff.

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

i dont doubt there is a difference, buts the main thing to run is shocks, thats what makes the difference, but shocks make for less turning radius then i allready have so id rather it be boat feeling, then me try to turn and not be able to turn sharp enough, and have to stop, back up and then turn meanwhile i get plowed into and killed my a 80,000 pount 18 wheeler...catch my drift about the turning radius? lol

And your truck is not a daily driver, so not having shocks will not be that bad.

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

ya, and besides i got the control arms with shock mounts for a reason, because that way i can run em if I want. at first i was gonna run them, but i see myself having no turning radius so im going to try it first without them. But nontheless i ordered control arms with shock mounts for a reason

Re: [Project] Living up to my username

Im tired, wanna go to bed...therefore short commentary tonight
got another SD package delivery
fittings(still have like 25 on back order unfortunatly), fill control valves, 30 amp relay, notorious backorder list

notch covers for bed, and wheel tubs for bed

firewall tubs:

filler plates(door handles, antenna, hood squiters, gas door, third brake light) for future shaving:

tonight i spent the night get the tanks mounted up. used 1.25" square bar for the back three tank crossmembers, and 1" square bar for the one closest to the notch because the frame curves up and the shit cant sit too high or it will hit the underside of the bed:

Oh ya, and im going to have these new 4 crossmembers powdercoated the blue as well...
