[Project] I'm bored why not!

Well this project thread wont be as cool as most but ill be updating with alot of little detail stuff. When i get bored i make things better

ok well this is my daily so i didnt want to mess with shaving it and paint and all that stuff but i wanted to make it look as clean and smooth as possible

my new and improved "antenna" it will be painted black. the bottom is from the inside of a skateboard bearing and the top is a bolt with a rounded top both have been sanded down to be nice and smooth and meet up nice and even at the meeting point, then kinda taper down so its not totaly straight. Hows that for tech

Im just improving on what i already have basicly alot of little stuff and a few new things come spring time right now its in winter mode and it sucks

i dont get the antena idea. i have a bearing sitting in my hand right now. and i do not have a tapered thing in the middle of mine. i have a straight cylinder. and i dont get how you are going to make that thing your antena or how you are going to connect it. explain damnit, explain

he's not gonna put an antenna on it. instead of shaving the antenna he's doing this so he doesnt have to get the fender repainted etc. so he made a lil cap for the threads so its not like someone jacked his antenna

bingo bango chris is right on the money thats a pic of what it used to look like. i used a dremal to make it the way you see it now. the middle thing i used from a busted up bearing was just straight up and down to begain with. i taperd it down with the dremal and the top bolt has threads on it so thats what will hold it down.

well got my drop spindles all done up. ground down all the rust and grime off them and painted them black. i was going to go all out and make them super smooth but them i remember these will probably come back off and that consist of taking a hammer to them many times...

yeah it works great, it just started leaking like 2 days after i said that lol. havnt looked to see where its leaking from, but its craftsman, so i guess i can take it back huh?

jacks are weird they have a 1 year warranty ill just use mine like crazy and hope if it does screw up it does it within the first year

Not yet, ive been dragging my feet. i'm gonna pull the tranny here real soon, and take it to the shop and see whats up with it.

ok heres somthing i have been kinda throwing back and forth since i took the bumper off. i had the bumper off because i was fixing the sag it had in it from 2 people backing into it i need youre guys opinion on it.

front bumper should i leave like it is in this picture


or change it up and get a new chrome bumper without the holes and a new black lower valance?

ehh i think i just answered my own question an all chrome bumper might be to much chrome now that i look at it right now its got a pretty good balance

but still what do you guys think fill me in.

ha ha i thought about doing an all black bumper valance combo but i think it would just look to plane if i did that. i hated the bumper thats on there now when i first got it but it grew on me ALOT after time went by.

black on black if your not getting an all chrome bumper. I don't really like the look of the impact strips.

well the good thing about this bumper so far has been the fact that there is the impact plastic on it lol. since 2 people have backed into it there is very little noticable damage. If it was painted i would be screwed...well they would be screwed!

i might be picking up a new grill for it here soon thats been painted black but i think the chrome strip is still in it. if i get that i might think about doing a black bumper

Your blazer is my black twin. I think it would look good to get a paintable grill shell like xtremes have. Would look good with the black out look you have. I would like to get one for mine so everything would be white. Looks good I will be checking back in to see what you do.

well purplepassion got me motivated and i decided to finish up my dash insert the right way and the way i wanted it done in the first place. the first time around i got tired of it and just finished it as is lol.



basicly the goal is sand it all back down, get rid of the line that goes across the top were the gauges go, and mabey shave that screw hole thats in there 2 but i have yet to decide on that though. I shaved the 4x4 delete peice and the pass airbag on/off switch the first time around so im just touching the spots up.

sanding sucks!
