Re: Project: I don't even know what to call it

Really no updates for a while guys, nothing too big at least. Just gotta save up from here on out. Here's a quick list of the things I plan to get in the future, and by checking everything off of this list I think I would have my Blazer right where I want it.

Spacers for C6 wheels (2.5" and 3")
Space Blue paint job
98+ front bumper
Valence w/ fogs
Roll pan
Blue LEDs throught the inside
New rear speakers
All-red tail lights (I know there's a specific name for it, just can't think of it)
HIDs

And that's pretty much all I can think of. I think I'd be pretty content with my Blazer if that list comes to life. If any of you know anyone or even have anything yourself on that list that you're looking to sell, please let me know!

Re: Project: I don't even know what to call it

Ok, so I need some help here. I've been dealing with this since I've lowered it, and I've kept telling myself "Just give it time, it needs to settle". Well, it's been long enough. Yes, the Blazer is lop-sided. Not by a lot, but still, I want everything to be level.

This is what I measured just a few minutes ago:

Passenger Rear: 28.5"
Driver Rear: 27.8"
Passenger Front: 28.6"
Driver Front: 27 3/4"

Does anyone have a solution to this? I've been hearing air shocks will fix the problem, but wanna hear some other options. Thanks

Re: Project: I don't even know what to call it

Alright guys it's been a few weeks but I've got an update for you all.

Went to the junkyard today and found myself a floor shifter. So you know what that means, floor shifter swap! Just found rlith's how-to thread on how to convert from column to floor so I'm good to go! Just need to get some more parts (console, shifter cable, and cowl).

Now, the only problem is that it's going to be nearly impossible to find all of that in blue to match. So I was thinking of buying that interior paint that LMC carries, just not sure if it's a good move. Has anyone used it? Quality? Long-lasting?

Here's some pics:

Re: Project: I don't even know what to call it

Also, I'm thinking about going lower with the Blazer. 4/4 just isn't enough for me. I'm gonna see how these C6 wheels look at 4/4 (once I get spacers to put them on) and I'll decide how much lower to go. I would like to go 5/5 or 5/6, but we'll see.

Re: Project: I don't even know what to call it

I use to be 6/7 on my '05 blazer on 20's. It was the same way. Started by lowering a little, then more, and more.

No, I can't sell this thing. Too many plans for it. Plus, I got HUGE news tonight. My uncle owns an '01 ext. cab Xtreme. Less than 100,000 miles, all black, paint is perfect, etc etc. Well, he called and was telling me how he needs his tires rotated and if I could do it for him yada yada yada. Then he somehow came up with the idea of getting a new car, so we were talking about new cars. Then he asked "You want the Xtreme if I get a new car"

Tyler... I shit my pants.

I didn't mean for the boot, the boot's taken care of. My grandma loves to sew I was meaning for the cowl, etc. But I'm guessing the paint is still pretty crappy nonetheless.

I'll just show up at his house tomorrow when he's just waking up and say "Ready to go car shopping?"

That is very true, plus it's my first vehicle. So if I do end up getting the X, what's gonna happen is I'm emptying the entire garage, reorganizing it, and the Blazer's going in. Since it won't be my daily, I'll be able to do MOAR with it!

Re: Project: I don't even know what to call it

Update for today- Took pinstripes off

Did not take off the thick stripes on the middle of the door because I lifted some up and you could tell there's new/old paint. But where the thin stripes were at the top, couldn't even tell. Took them off, did some buffing/polishing, and here's how it came out.

Oh, and I snapped a pic of this beautiful sunset (one of the few great things about Florida)

Today I might be debadging it. Depends how much of a difference the whites will be/if I can make it look there isn't a difference. But if I do end up doing it, there'll be pics later.

Also, since you can't take the black stripes off the bottom, cover them with a satin white stripe for now.

Re: Project: I don't even know what to call it

Ok so since I've done nothing to this for what seems like forever... I'm thinking about going lower today (the cheap way). Just going to pull leafs and cut springs.

For springs, what I'll do is take out the drop springs and line them up next to the stock springs. Then cut from there. For leafs, I've been reading a lot about doing (I also found the how-to), but what I noticed is that nobody has done it with 4" blocks in the rear. Does this make a difference? Is it a good/bad idea? I'm reading that taking one leaf out will give you around a 1.75" drop.

Re: Project: I don't even know what to call it

I've decided not to lower it yet, at least not until I see how the C6 wheels will look with the 4/4. Hopefully I can get spacers and tires for these things soon, I can't wait any longer to put them on.

Re: Project: I don't even know what to call it

Haven't posted in here in a while. But I've got a small update for you viewers. Yesterday I bought myself a kayak for fishing and that meant the luggage rack needed to go back on. But before I decided to just bolt it on, I decided to repaint because of all of the sun damage it had. So, here's some pics!

Started with sanding it down and priming it

Then a couple coats of black appliance paint lol (I had a full can of it in the garage so why not)

Done and bolted on!

And with the kayak

Not bad for a rattle can paint job huh?
