Mine was just tight from sitting. A snapped timing chain is probably not it's only problem. The last small block I saw with a broken timing chain had a main bearing wedged between the chain and sprocket.

Yea that's what we're worried about. And with the car needing a lot of bodywork it's hardly worth putting the money into the engine as well.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

Thansk guys. Wouldn't mind doing a slammed blazer next time I want to do another lowered project. We'll see when spring hits. I just finished school on Friday so I'm going to have to recover my funds. The probe will very likely get turboed it's super clean and low kms. But I still want a muscle project after the junk ass camaro dissapointment, would rather a mid to late 70's camaro. Not the most popular body style but I like it.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

Just finished my last year for autobody refinisher. I'm not a certified journeyman red seal painter I still don't get to paint full time at work though, not til the painter we have leaves. But I'm going to practice by repainting the right fender door and front bumper of my ram that our painter did a crappy colour match on after I kissed fenders with a cab in the summer ( that's where all the money I had from selling the s10 went was fixing my truck, stupid cabbie.... ) Then I want to repaint the probe with a red pearl since the hood has paint checking anyways and needs to be stripped and painted.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

Haha thanks heeter, didn't notice that.

The Ram looks lower cause it has 33s on it with smaller rims. Haven't decided if I want to lift the ram or not. I've started to get parts together for it to make it faster and might do a supercharger on it in the future if I don't trade it in for the diesel half ton. If I get a bunch more power out of it I'd rather it still handle decently so I think it might stay stock. Possibly level the front if anything and bigger sway bars.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

I wouldn't go for the 1/2 ton diesel cause its not a cummins, but the 3.0L used in jeeps made by VM Motori. Cummins new v8 is going in a Nissan Titan that I'm not to happy about and wish they would put it into the Ram 1/2 ton.

If you throw more power at it you should drop it to the pavement.

It's still a good diesel motor and it's putting down more power and torque than the hemi with better fuel economy. But I'm going to give it a couple years to see if it does come up with any issues before I decide on the trade.

I'm not sure how I feel about the new Colorado yet, but the rumor is that it is going to come with a 2.8 diesel for north america. Just another option in case you wanted to go back to a mini truck.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

Yea I don't like the look of the new chevy 1/4 tons. I'd get another dime or s-series if I was to do minitruck. Actually if I could find a decent luv around here I'd build one up. Really if I had an acerage I'd have tons of projects on the go, it's the lack of driveway space available and my bitchy neighbours who claim that because we live in an "estate" neighbourhood I can't have what they call "eyesores" lol jerks...

Hey Mo, dogs are great. My old girl's still kickin around. She's kind of like a live rug these days. But I love her.

Thanks for the happy birthdays

Thanks, she's in good shape and low kms, but I am finding issue after issue after issue and chasing a hell of a highway shake in it among other issues.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

The jimmy seat vs. the mazda seat

Both seats installed
[/QUOTE] First off I just want to say you did an awesome build job on this SDime and secondly I'm very sorry to see It got sold but I'm sure you had your reasons. As of right now my old man just bought an S10 a few months back and he has been searching heavily for Blazer leather seats, We live In Toronto, Ontario and so far all we have found are a pair of *Diamond Edition* leather seats but they are pretty warn and have rips and tears. My old man Is trying to find the same leather seats that are In this photo, Is there any In your province for sale? Cause I can't find anything, Only seats from the States and with the American dollar worth more then ours It's not worth paying the taxes to ship them here.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

I saw a set in a jimmy when I was at pick n pull a couple weeks ago, they were even heated. I see them come up on kijiji too. Thought about doing it to the blazer but I have a zillion other issues to worry about first. Need to get the steering tightened up first with a grand Cherokee box or something, this half turn lack of response crap sucks on the highway lol. Then I need to address my wicked light flicker. And should probably figure out why the engine shudders at idle. And maybe look into the power steering whine as well as my a/c compressor scream. Did I mention this thing is a bit of a jerk? lol

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

Yeah I constantly check Kijiji on a daily basis but nothing decent looking shows up, He wants black leather In mint condition lol
He's going on his 65th soon enough so when you reach that age you become picky as hell apparently O_o

And yeah sounds like you got a lot on your plate to figure and and fix lol

Yea not sure they ever came in black. I think dark grey like what I had is as close as you'll find. If I ever came across a set of light grey leather ones I'd swap these out.

And that's about how life goes hey Mo. Down to one dog. Had to put the old girl down. She couldn't stand anymore. Broke my heart that's for sure. But my other dog is a true truck slut. I take her everywhere and she is loving the blazer with the seats folded down. I co run a truck club in Calgary and she'll go home with anyone in a truck lol. You still rollin the oldsmodime? I bought a 77 camaro to restore. I've never regretted a project quite so much lol. Chip Foose makes it look so damn easy.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

That's a nice truck. Sorry to hear about your pup. I had to put mine down almost a year ago. I'm still not really over it over it. Yeah, I still got the pick up, and a Bravada now too. Neither get driven much.

Sorry bout your dog mo. I know how ya feel. I tear up still.

Yea I regret the change that's for sure. But the ram is my concrete queen. And I moved my horses to a boarding barn that has 10kms of gravel road and the rsx is just not meant for that lol. And with the prediction of a really heavy winter I decided having a couple 4x4s rather than a lowered fwd will fair better lol
