Mine was just tight from sitting. A snapped timing chain is probably not it's only problem. The last small block I saw with a broken timing chain had a main bearing wedged between the chain and sprocket.

Yea that's what we're worried about. And with the car needing a lot of bodywork it's hardly worth putting the money into the engine as well.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

Thansk guys. Wouldn't mind doing a slammed blazer next time I want to do another lowered project. We'll see when spring hits. I just finished school on Friday so I'm going to have to recover my funds. The probe will very likely get turboed it's super clean and low kms. But I still want a muscle project after the junk ass camaro dissapointment, would rather a mid to late 70's camaro. Not the most popular body style but I like it.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

Just finished my last year for autobody refinisher. I'm not a certified journeyman red seal painter I still don't get to paint full time at work though, not til the painter we have leaves. But I'm going to practice by repainting the right fender door and front bumper of my ram that our painter did a crappy colour match on after I kissed fenders with a cab in the summer ( that's where all the money I had from selling the s10 went was fixing my truck, stupid cabbie.... ) Then I want to repaint the probe with a red pearl since the hood has paint checking anyways and needs to be stripped and painted.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

Haha thanks heeter, didn't notice that.

The Ram looks lower cause it has 33s on it with smaller rims. Haven't decided if I want to lift the ram or not. I've started to get parts together for it to make it faster and might do a supercharger on it in the future if I don't trade it in for the diesel half ton. If I get a bunch more power out of it I'd rather it still handle decently so I think it might stay stock. Possibly level the front if anything and bigger sway bars.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

I wouldn't go for the 1/2 ton diesel cause its not a cummins, but the 3.0L used in jeeps made by VM Motori. Cummins new v8 is going in a Nissan Titan that I'm not to happy about and wish they would put it into the Ram 1/2 ton.

If you throw more power at it you should drop it to the pavement.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

It's still a good diesel motor and it's putting down more power and torque than the hemi with better fuel economy. But I'm going to give it a couple years to see if it does come up with any issues before I decide on the trade.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

I'm not sure how I feel about the new Colorado yet, but the rumor is that it is going to come with a 2.8 diesel for north america. Just another option in case you wanted to go back to a mini truck.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches

Yea I don't like the look of the new chevy 1/4 tons. I'd get another dime or s-series if I was to do minitruck. Actually if I could find a decent luv around here I'd build one up. Really if I had an acerage I'd have tons of projects on the go, it's the lack of driveway space available and my bitchy neighbours who claim that because we live in an "estate" neighbourhood I can't have what they call "eyesores" lol jerks...

Hey Mo, dogs are great. My old girl's still kickin around. She's kind of like a live rug these days. But I love her.

Thanks for the happy birthdays
