Well, I will consider myself bs'ed, then.
By the way Heather, this useless, idle, random, non-truck talk will continue until you post some progress or something. Why you ask? Just cause. |

Sorry Heather didn't mean to continue to side track. Common progress! What size bags are you thinking of for up front? |

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches
Update time!!! Okay it's a minor update but it's an update. Vette wheels are on the truck. Picking up a ZR2 rear end for the truck next monday, yay posi and no more 3" rear spacers! Hit the junkyard looking for a jeep steering shaft with no luck but did find a dome light. I've been looking for a bigger dome light so I can run the led panel lights since the stock s10 one is about 2mm too small for the one I bought. So I found one from an older early 90's ranger, cut it's center out and trimmed the stock s10 dome to fit inside it.

I'll take a pic of how it looks in the truck when it's light out.

Neato. I've been wanting to figure something out because the truck has a shitty looking dome light and the white lens sucks balls.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches
Yea I hated the white lense and when I tried to force it over the led panel I broke it. So I ran it open for a while til I found something that would work. I wasn't smart enough to take a pic of the ranger dome light before I cut it apart though but it was super easy and fits quite nice. Has a bit of a gap at the sides where the headliner curves but it's not super noticeable.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches
Oh yea that would give lots of light.
I'm thinking I might redo my suede headliner this summer since it has a couple wrinkles that bug me and when I do I might figure out a way to accent light the embosed chevy symbol I have in the headliner. Not sure how yet though. |

Oh and might I add the new spacers on the front of my truck are sooooooo much better, amazing what 1/4 inch does for clearing the wheel well.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches
A Z's rear is 8" wider than a 2wd, so it'll push the wheels out 4", but a 4x4 rear is 4"
wider than a 2wd, so it only moves the wheels out 2". Either way, it's not going to be the 3" she currently has. |

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches
That would be. But far too much work lol. Especially just to fit a zr2 rear end under it haha.
But if the 4x4 rear end is 4 inches wider that would still help. What I need is 60" wide camaro rear end. But a camaro rear end would have the leaf spring seats in the wrong spot I assume right? |

I think they were leaf sprung untill 81. Anyway you could convert a rear to work with leafs easy.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches
Bodywork to commence when the rain stops this week. And my trucks rear end vibration has gotten much worse. Getting a bit worried that I can't figure out what it is. I'm all for some good vibration but this is getting bad, it's making my doors rattle now
Met a guy on the weekend though that has a friend that does good driveline work. He can get my drive shaft balanced and u-joints done for cheap so I'm going to try that. Also started planning my sub box so I can start cutting the huge mdf sheet in the garage Update pics soon I promise.

Re: Project Girl with Wrenches
Doesn't help I left my phone on the back of my truck and drove off. It got run over in front of my house. Amazingly no cracked screen just some dents in the back from rocks on the tire and a gash in the lense for the camera. But I use my phone to take my truck pics so now I gotta find the cord for my digital camera instead.

Check blad boys shop truck. I think he did that. Looks ok, but like something is missing. Wouldn't look bad with a few billet bars to match his grill. Some one else mentioned that.
