Project: Foxy Lady
rut roh! Its a FORD!
I am very soon to be the owner of a brand new 1989 Mustang 5.0! completely rust free from Virginia. I just bought a car dolly today, I'm gonna go down there this weekend and drag her home to Michigan. Then I'll start the real project thread updates. There shouldent be much to do, its supposed to already have headers, cold air intake, chipped, re geared, shift kitted... but the VA beach sun has baked the paint right off of it. thats an easy fix for me though ![]() I'm thinking some dress up parts like some chrome wheels or something and she'll be a nice toy while i build my s-10 the way i want. Pics soon as i get some. |

Re: Project: Foxy Lady
ehhhhh yeah and no. the bike really isent a project. that would only take a couple hours. theres no body work to do on it, and its just the tank and two tiny side covers to paint, and LITERALLY no bolts to take any thing off. The s-10 is medium priority. that trailer HAS to be done... the mustang i'll do when i get to it.

Re: Project: Foxy Lady
no pics of interior yet, but the title says i'm the second owner. Had 177 miles on it when he bought it. now it only has 92k, and has never been north of norfolk VA, which is where he bought it, then moved to flordia, then back to norfolk where i am right now. I am leaving in a few hours heading back home to Michigan with it. The interior is really nice. gray carpet is clean, seats have had seat covers on them since day one, so they are near perfect. It needs the headlights taken apart and polished up, or replaced with some projector lenses. i have a lot of work to do on it, but its all little stuff i can do while i'm still driving it, so it should be a fun project.

Re: Project: Foxy Lady
Nice. I'm not a huge fan of Mustangs (espeically since I have a Ford in my driveway and hate it), but I do like the fox body cars. I wouldn't mind owning a '86 SVO or '86 GT, or even a '93 Cobra. I have thing for rare or special models.
![]() Good luck with it, I had a good friend of my years back own a high 9 second Mustang with a 377 stroker under the hood. Nice quartermile car indeed. |

Re: Project: Foxy Lady
well, i found all the parts i need at a place called late model restoration parts. new speaker grills, new door handle bezels, even 5 spoke aluminum 17 inch cobra-R wheels and 255/40 tires for 850 bucks, mounted and balanced.
so including paint, ALL new weatherstripping, and all the other dress up junk, i'm looking at 1500 bucks for a car that is like brand new, only better. |

I like the red!! plus it will probly be easier painting it red rather than a color change.

Re: Project: Foxy Lady
why not red with those wheels?...look sinister as hell too!...if i could get my hands on a notchback police interceptor with the 5spd, i'd be in heaven...GSP here used 'em for a good while but haven't even seen a nothcback in years

Re: Project: Foxy Lady
well, i can get the silver wheels from www.latemodelrestoration.com with tires for just over 850 bucks, mounted and balanced, so i'm pretty much locked on those wheels. black wheels on a black car is the only way i would go with black wheels anyways. my sister did a quick photoshop for me too, and now i'm REALLY in the air as to what color.
![]() she also did one in lime green... surprisingly nice looking lol. |

Re: Project: Foxy Lady
ok, long time since update. I just ordered most of my parts from a place called "late model restoration supply" www.50resto.com
20 dollar gift card for wal mart for every 100 you spend. i got a 200 dollar gift card ![]() Its gonna stay red, silver 17x9 cobra r wheels that i just ordered, silver stripe around molding, and silver "mustang" inlays. ordered the 6 piece clear headlight set and speaker grills, only thing left is paint supplies and weather stripping. this will probly be the last post for awhile, UNLESS i get a super nice day and get ants in the pants to put the wheels on early ![]() which i'm almost positive i will do lol. oh well. the only difference between men and boys is the size of their toys, right? super quick chop of the silver stripe added into it... i think it adds ALOT to the car considering how simple and clean it is. ![]() Last edited by Eight433 : 11-23-2007 at 07:23 PM. |

ehh i love the red but for me the silver strip does nothing to make the car look better IMO i would go all red.

Re: Project: Foxy Lady
yeah i dont like it as much today as i did yesterday.... still, all red just kinda makes it look a like you just took it through a car wash that used red paint instead of water. I may have to find something else to give it a little definition. although, i think the silver stripe in real life will look better, it would be a lot smaller with cleaner lines than my shitty photoshop...

Re: Project: Foxy Lady
yeah, one of those is a V2.... oh well, i got a deal on em.
thats a nice notchback sdime98. i like those wheels better too.... infact, if i had the money, there are a whole lot of wheels i could choose after a 5 lug conversion. I dident buy these wheels because they were my favorite, i bought them cause they were the best looking wheel i could afford. I only know one other person personally with a fox body and its my brother who lives 800 miles away, and it is sittin on 14 inch chrome. I dont really see too many fox bodies around my area untill the mustang show comes around every year, so the cobras will be somewhat original here. I really did want to do a 5 lug, but everything i looked at pointed at more and more money. ex: 5 lug kit means i could run bigger, better wheels. bigger wheels means more expensive tires. bigger wheels also means i'd "have" to upgrade the brakes (naturally!) the list just keeps going from there. so point being, these wheels will make the car look good enough to drive for awhile or at least make it easier to sell for a profit. |
