Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

That'd be cool. I'd be a little bummed to see this just get painted matte black. Not that it wouldn't be cool. It'd just blend in with all the other trucks out there I think. I'm kinda hoping you'll find it in the budget to at least do some kind of design that's a little more "one-off". I understand there's financial limits though.

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

Eh im really not feeling the Irocs man...they have been played out...and all black is kinda cool but I am also afraid that it will just blend in with the other 5 million s10s that are flat black...I know you want it done and are on a budget but dont sacrifice quality or your vision for it either..

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

cause the primer on it now looks like poo poo. Show me one set of black chrome Irocs, then I'll admit they are played out.

It won't get painted Matte black. That being said, I dont know exactly what it will be painted. Al is supposed to call on a new color I found, but he still hasn't. I need to take my pedal assembly to Kyle but I cannot ****in find it!

I am going to try to get it to him by tomorrow.

even if they are black they will still be irocs...i think a lot of things will really effect how they will look cause im not a huge fan of black rims in general unless everything else compliments them as well..

I have a pretty good style when it comes to things. i won't buy something that isn't going to look good. I promise.

ChopIt I might need to utilize you for transport, but probably not. I like to drive out there and check things out. It's only what, hour and ten minutes... not too bad. I will see what I am going to do about wheels/paint color when the time comes. No fears.

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

you think YOU'RE dizzy...

this is what happens. I get an idea, then something comes up. In this case it was that I got offered some money for it. So that got me thinking I could sell it, and put some money into getting some wheels for the trailblazer SS and putting away some money for when I move to Virginia. From there I got to thinking "what if the guy backs out again?" So I started thinking of doing things the cheapest way possible. There is rhyme for my reason.... sorta haha

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

i understand, kinda. . . except for the fact i would finish it after i was this deep into it. im not ripping on you or anything like that. i just hate to see people spend tons of money on something, look at and say, "i should sell it." finish it to the point where you can drive it, and i PROMISE you, you wont want to sell it. but, if you need the money, then do it. you're the only one who can decide that.

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

Trust me I understand what you're saying completely. I just lost interest and wanted to sell it. Decided I would push through, then got an offer. I think I am going to get it driving, and like you said... once that happens I won't want to get rid of it, it'll be too much fun

does it even really make sense to sell it especially when you know youre not going to get your money out of it...i think everyone has thought about selling their projects but you just have to be patient..

well in the end I won't get my money out of it either. it's either lose money now, and don't get to enjoy it. Or, get it done, lose more money, but get to say I drove it lol.

oh my! I love it. It looks great. Want to make sure those bolts are in there for me while you've got access to a lift? I won't be able to do it, and after I get it home from Al i would be worried about hurting that brand new paint. I would appreciate it GREATLY

Thanks again Kyle that looks so awesome.

Amazing how I've seen Kenny go from to all because of the past month's work on this firewall. If you look'd at his posts in the old thread you would think this firewall was beyond help and it would be damn near impossible to even find someone to work on it.

Nice work Kyle!

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

well you can imagine the frustration that was caused from the truck sitting where it was getting nothing done. I would go there with intentions of working on it, and we just wouldn't because something needed to be done. I was so sick of it.

Now I take it somewhere else, and the work gets done, and looks great. It's a god dang relief!

Haha. Yes, I understand totally. I think anyone that's gone through a big build process has had more than their share of ups and down. It's one of those things that makes people respect the person a little more once it's done. Especially people that have been through the same thing.

well I am going to see how far I can get. You are all going to say... "WTF?" If I paint it the color I am looking at right now. It's none of the blues I have showed thus far, and I will leave it at that. Once it's at Als and getting painted, I will post teasers, but that's about it.

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

i seriously smile everytime I look at the photos. It's nice to know I have an actual firewall now. One that doesn't have bit holes in it, and will serve the purpose it's supposed to. On top of that, it looks pretty damn cool too!

My dad bought something for his '65 cutlass the other day, it was an air intake. I think I am going to try something similar. Since I am using the carbed 350, the carb with an intake on it is going to be tough to fit under a stock hood... I am hoping if I use something like this:

It's from spectre, and it's only 2.4 inches tall! pretty nice looking stuff. My dad bought the big version, and his has dual intakes (i can go with that setup too). When I had the motor in there for mockup, it LOOKS as if I will have a small amount of room between the top of the carb and the hood. If it's 2.4 inches or more we'll be golden!

Cool man. I know Doug sectioned his stock intake hat to get it to fit under the hood. Do they have a non-chrome one you could use if you needed to section it.
