Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

So, I just got back from Total Mayhem, hell of a nice shop. Very bright, very clean, everything seemed very organized... and PACKED. Kyles got a lot of work, and more stuff lined up. Seems like a very straight forward, down to Earth guy. I look forward to doing business with him. I again, forgot the camera and half the other stuff I was supposed to take with me. Someday I'll have more photos.

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

Kyle is in the thread, he already posted the photos, there is nothing new. This week he is going to whip up an estimate, i am going to give him the go ahead, then fun pictures shall begin. He said it should be cheaper than he expected, so I might get some other fun stuff done hehe

The shop is quite impressive I must say. very clean, very bright, lift, nice little area up front where they have some products. Second nicest "shop" i have seen to date. Sure there are some better, but they have a nice get up there.

I am confident my truck is in good hands, better than it has been in thus far that's for sure.

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

yes, big whores. Kyle called yesterday, everything should start progressing soon.

The problem is that he needs a couple things and I am really busy right now with exams, school work, spring break, etc.... that I don't know when I can get over to the trailer to get the stuff he needs. Let alone whether I can actually get IN the trailer to get the parts out. Hopefully after my eye exam today I can head over there and grab the stuff he needs. But knowing my track record with anything involving this truck, something will go wrong lol.

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

well i wanted to come out there today but i cannot even keep my eyes open outside right now. I got my pupils dilated at my eye appointment this morning. She said because I have blue eyes it would be pretty sensitive to light... I was like ehh no biggie, I can handle it.

Good lord! the sting if I leave em open, no driving long distances for me that's for sure haha. I might try to get my ole man to take me to where my parts are tomorrow and get it to Kyle tomorrow afternoon, but i've got a damn doctors appointment tomorrow. I mean come on!

i wont be draggin it to OT, unless things really work out, but i don't foresee it happening.

If I took it, I would win, because it's rigged and I paid off the judges.

he's not going stock floor? I thought he was building an entirely new frame, shows how much I pay attention to things.

I wish you the best of luck, mine has been a bitch, i think it's cursed, we'll see how things pan out at Total Mayhem.

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

Ill give it my all good sir. Just a matter of time. Thankfully i've got some good guys to work with now, the truck won't go sitting for three months at a time and not get anything done.

I respect my friend for attempting it, but he obviously bit off more than he could chew, a firewall is something he couldnt get done. But, due to the lack of work he did do, I will now be getting it painted by Al. I just hate the fact that I don't have time to take this shit to Kyle, I hope I get some time tomorrow.

You paid them! NO!

Yeah its traditional. I build a new frame to abotu mid cab. I was thinking abotu stockfloor but since its my first truck/major project i sort of steered away from that.

Also i used to race a junior drgaster that i was really squished into, so i am sure i wouldn't mid the cab commin down. And im only 5' 8" if that.

What does kyle need to start? Isn't he just redoing the tubs and firewall?

Re: {Project} Finish it already Kenny

Yes sir, but I need to take him my stock dash, as the firewall needs to be almost completely re done. If i don't take the dash, who's to say the stock one will even go back in when completed. I was going to have him make me a sheetmetal dash, or put an old impala dash in there, but I really just cannot afford that right now. Cheaper the better, just wanna get her road worthy as soon as possible. I won't be cutting corners, just not making it EXACTLY what I want.

If i keep it when i move, maybe down the road it will get more attention, for now, my main thing is getting something done. I did find another color I want AL to call on, hopefully it's only a two stage, the Jet stream was a three.

I didn't want to do traditional, I am a pretty big guy, about 6'4" 215, I didn't want to feel any more cramped than I had too

lol, i feel ya on the road worthy thing. It will give ya some motivation once its done to do all the mods you want to do.

Good Call AL is gonna paint it? I have seen his stuff on GLC. He does a nice job painting.

i weight abotu 180, but i don't mind beign crammed in there. I just hate the stock feeling of my xtreme, i like feeling "in there i guess" Racing dragsters didn't help. lol.

haha

I am going to talk to my ole man, see if he and I can run over to the trailer tomorrow morning, early. Then run out to Total Mayhem with all my shit. I'd just be a drop and run since I have a damn appointment at the docs in the afternoon.

Hopefully I can get it all out there since I would REALLY like to have Kyle working on it while I am gone.

thats a good thing!

I just asked my dad, we are going to roll over to the storage place tomorrow morning. I will hopefully head your way around 11:00 or so, then jet home for my appointment. I am bringing the column, pedal assembly, and the dash. oh and the headers. they may not look the best but they'll do.

Maybe alittle inspiration for ya.

Nice jack stand shifter. That 64 dash is SEXY.

Kenny, you should just make a full custom dash.

Oh for sure! If i don't do it now though, I don't foresee it ever getting done. I am going to try like hell to get this done, drivable, showable and all that jazz before the end of the summer. So I can at least hit up a couple big shows. I want to be able to experience that at least.

After that, it will be time to make a decision. I will be close to moving by then. I might even spend a couple months during this summer out in Virginia with my uncle as somewhat of an internship/help him set up a new store. I would make some money while "learning the ropes". If I don't do that this summer it will be beginning of 2010. Regardless of when I do the rope learning, I will be moving early 2010 to live there for a while, more than likely permanently. SO with that being said, if the blazer goes with me, she'll be sitting for a while. More than likely it'll get sold off to buy the g/f a ring, but that's another story in itself. For now, it's go time!
