Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
Nice build so far. One thing i'd recommend changing is the tranny. The 4l60es in the newer truck aern't built for hot rodding I've been through two already. I'd recommend selling the 4l60e and putting a 4l80e behind the 5.3 Just trying to help. They make turbo set up for these engines they run for $4000. Here's a forum to check out for the 5.3 http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/

Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
yeah itll still turn fairly sharp. plus i will be running a 15x4 with a 135r..(i think thats the size, i forget) so itll be fairly close to being able to go full lock to lock. not to terribly worried about it though.

Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
didnt get much done today. i started welding in a new front crossmember. still need to plate part of it and finish welding it up.. i didnt see the need to dimple die anything so i didnt get them out.
also beat the firewall in some. going to cut part of the tranny tunnel out tomorrow so the front of the motor can come up. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
thanks doodz.
got a tranny cross member made up. dad had an idea for one, but looked way to thrown together, so i made this.. the exhaust cut outs hang down below the frame a hair, but the frame wont sit real low to the ground. ![]() |

Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
was going to be removable, but it will be eaiser to pull the motor/tranny out together than get to the bellhousing bolts. and i already had the center section of the tubing welded to the bracket for the tranny mount. i guess you can say i got a little lazy.

Motor mounts don't look to safe. Shouldn't the motor be sitting as close to the frame as possible.
