Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
dude.. go away. i guarantee you have no experience with a cut spring. you are going along with a bandwagon of OMGZ cut coil is hack. if you are cutting the coil spring in half, yes that's hack.

It's weird, I saw a Luv on craigslist in Cleveland that I wanted to look at, but I didn't have time. I've never seen one in person, only on the interwebs.

Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
yeah my xtreme use to drag everything everywhere with my 15's with low profile tires and a 3.5/4.5, but they rode so much better then my 20/22 combo and i liked being that low more then with the fancy big wheels.

Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
saw zaw..
no updates on the truck.. need to buy headers. i bought sbc motor mounts and need to get dad to make motor mount adapter plates. i used specs off speedway and drew up the plate so he could make it. i wont be buying the whipple anymore. its setup for truck accessories and i need all the room i can up front so im going to run ls2 w/p, crank pulley etc. i am puttnig ac on it so i will also have to run a condenser up front. im not willing to cut the firewall to push the engine back so ill deal without a s/c. |

Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
you could mount the s/c further back and build an extended shaft to mount the pully too. kinda like l-----l__l that. just braise the shaft with some good bearings in the middle so to relieve some stress.

Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
It was a joke.. I don't imagine it's too hard, cut off old one, weld on new one eh? ![]() Of course you need to put it on using the aforementioned products to "weld" it back on, that will make it a LOT easier. Kids these days, always so serious. |

Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
well i mean come on, jump up someones ass when it was simply a joke...
my answer could've been towards how hard it was too, not just how to do it. It's pretty easy to mix up some jb weld, chew some gum, and gob on some super glue. Keyboard commandos are fun though. I like your project good sir, but i am really wanting to see your motor. So hurry it up. |

Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
thanks everyone.
heres the ls6 intake and my throttle body bolted up... looking like im gonna have to either push motor back to run a radiator, condenser and efan(s), or sacrifice something. id like to just push the motor back some to simplify everything, but then i dont cause i dont usually like the look of cut firewalls... we will see! new rocker ![]() intake ![]() hubs made it home! ![]() ![]() |

Re: [ProJecT] Feel the LUV
got some more work done today with the help from a friend...
got the motor n tranny out.. ![]() then we got the bed off.. lets in a nice amount of light. i really like it. ![]() ![]() ![]() made a little wood cart with some casters, rolled cab out to shed ![]() work smart not hard ![]() rolled out to clean and take a little break ![]() back at it... ![]() how we ended for the day... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() so all together, we got the motor/tranny out, bought wood, built cart, bed cleaned out, bed off, gas tank out, shocks off, most little bracketry cut off that isnt going to be needed, frame half ass cleaned up in the spot we are widening it... probably a few other little things but whatever. tomorrow im gonna do alot of measurements etc and cut off the front 2 body mounts. and hopefully get the frame widened... |
