Re: [Project] Doored 454 (NOT an s10)
Got some stuff today finally. Fuel pressure gauge setup that I'm going to mount on the hood, and a KBS coatings rustseal kit for the rear frame. Just waiting on my new SS-7 bags for the rear that will be here on Monday.

It's gonna be a long time before that gets bagged or dropped probably. Selling my Audi, trying to buy a house in the next month or two so I have to pay off the WRX and a credit card. Oh well.

Re: [Project] Doored 454 (NOT an s10)
Haven't put it on yet, it's going on tomorrow or Sunday. Honestly though, it looks cheap as shit. I wanted an autometer but only needed up to 20-30psi not 100. Glycerine filled woulda been sweet too. I just can't wait to rock a gauge on the hood haha.

I've been seeing them in the industrial stuff around here a lot. Brought a few in, they seem to be a bit high on the cost. Haha..

Re: [Project] Doored 454 (NOT an s10)
My fuel pressure problem...fuel pressure shits when I get on it then it leans out and backfires. Any guru's out there have any ideas? It has vacuum reference fuel pressure regulator in it now and it's possible I hooked the wrong vacuum line to it, but not sure.

Re: [Project] Doored 454 (NOT an s10)
Thanks dude, I really appreciate it. I wish I had more time and money, it'd be fully painted and done by now.
So after my last video, I messed around with the vacuum lines and got the FPR hooked up the right way, but the fuel pressure at idle is still too low. |

Sean stupid question, you checked for kinks and stuff in the fuel line right? And im sure you replaced the filter and checked the pick up screen in the tank

Re: [Project] Doored 454 (NOT an s10)
Yeah it's not any of that stuff. It's directly related to vacuum and me being an idiot and hooking the regulator up to the wrong vac line. I got the truck to run pretty decent but today will be the test driving it around G4L. The fuel pressure is now close but still a little low. Should be 10psi at idle and I'm only at 8, a stiffer fpr spring would work perfect but I'm gonna recheck for vac leaks.

Re: [Project] Doored 454 (NOT an s10)
Thanks. The WRX looks so much better in person, and I have center caps on the wheels now. Cell phone pics can't justify the candy teal powdercoat at all.
Here's my new daily that I'm working on since I'm selling the Audi. It's a 90 jetta coupe with an obd1 ABA swap and I've done the rear disc/5lug swap with 16x8 mercedes wheels and adapters. Also put on Rally Armor mudflaps...working on getting the front swap done this week when I have time. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nice haha, the works look good on there. WRB and aspen white are my favorite WRX colors, and bugeye is my favorite style as well. I could have traded my audi for a bugeye WRB one but turned it down since I need cash. Damn shame but whatevs haha.

Re: [Project] Doored 454 (NOT an s10)
That Jetta is pretty clean Sean. I havent had any luck selling my A4, and I even lowered the price to $4500 with stock wheels and suspension. Ive pretty much just stopped worrying about selling it and fixing the A6 as well. Its going to cost over a grand to put the A6 back together, and at this point, I dont care if it sits a year, lol.

Re: [Project] Doored 454 (NOT an s10)
I was getting replies saying $6000 was too much, and they could buy an S4 for that much, lol. Ill probably end up keeping it, throw in some upgraded valves, rods and throw a bigger turbo on it, later on down the road.

If your pressure is also low just on idle, could it be the pump?

Re: [Project] Doored 454 (NOT an s10)
Gunther, I'm starting to think the pump is taking a shit on me. I now have the correct psi at idle but it won't go above 11psi when I get on it at all. Truck has all sorts of problems right now. I think my master cylinder is shot, and my speedo doesn't work at all anymore so I'm not sure what's going on. Must have messed the wiring up somewhere. |

Re: [Project] Doored 454 (NOT an s10)
Yep. Truck has 95% new brake lines front and rear, actually I'd say almost everything related to brakes aside from front calipers was changed. New pads, shoes, wheel cylinders, brake lines front and rear and from the rear going up to the master(not front though), hydroboost, and master cylinder. WTF haha.
For shits and giggles I changed the fuel filter before I took drove the truck off the trailer...yeah that didn't help shit. I'm really leaning towards pump, and it kinda makes sense because if I remember right, when I unhook the vacuum line to the FPR I only got 11-12psi and that FPR is set to max out at 20psi...hmmm. Sounds like it's time for an inline Walbro for a booster pump or a better drop in one. |

No, working. Only show I might hit up now is h2o in Ocean City to finish out the season and be my last shindig before home ownership. Besides, every year at LR something bad happens...either I get arrested or yelled at by one of the biggest names in the minitruckin' world haha. Every f*ckin year I get in some shit there, not this year though.
