Re: Project: Desert Storm "bodydrop and more"

Well guys haven't updated this in a while been working 2 jobs five days a week since 2013 started... Anyway the truck is now at a good buddy of mine's house to get finished up...that being said on to some pics

Kenney's Customs is my buddy who is doing the work

Started working that trashed roll pan

lots of bracing this time around

motor coming together

and it is in... that is where it is at for now, sadly after putting the motor in we realized the firewall is going to need some serious modification to fit everything I will be updating this from time to time on progress as it happens...Curently the truck is two hours away at his place so progress won't be super fast but it will be on the road this year in time for camp n drag!

Re: Project: Desert Storm "bodydrop and more"

well I almost gave up on this thing a few weeks ago, I had a chance to pick up a datsun 521, which is the dream truck, however it was kind of a shady deal and I backed out. However that got me right back into working on this thing with my mind straight and money in my pocket we started getting back on it.

2 weeks ago it looked like this

and when I got to my buddies place this weekend here is how it sat

[URL=http://s1110.photobucket.com/user/swtnlow94/media/IMG952655_zps0aa73246.jpg.html]

He had been busy, the fire wall has been redone, he started working on a hydroboost brake set up off of an astro van, built a full custom exhaust (I'll see if I can find more pics of that later on) re did the cross member and trans mount, just all around busy.

This weekend we did a lot, got the new shifter installed (no pics of that either) the trans is hooked up and working all vac lines are hooked up, worked on the hydroboost some more, ran all the fuel lines to the tank, and needles to say it moves under its own power now, we just don,t have any brakes at the moment.

sitting outside after we drove it out for the first time.

and we had a little bit of fun

and a video just for the hell of it

I have a show in two weeks in memory of a fallen mini trucker and good friend, and then camp and drag is in what 4 weeks now? Any way Ill have it at the show in two weeks and aim to have it driving for camp and drag!

Re: Project: Desert Storm "bodydrop and more"

she is running on streets!!! i even got to ride in it last night lol first time on street and everything feels solid.. we changed plug wires and had a few loose plugs which helped the motor not hickup.. but he drove it down about 5 miles to a local cruise and it got alot of attention.

Re: Project: Desert Storm "bodydrop and more"

Spent the last few days timing the motor and fixing some leaks, I drove it for about a5 minutes last night. So today I drove it to work and after work went on a small cruise for about 25 miles which was amazing, it hasn't seen road time in over two years and driving it again was an awesome feeling. I still have tons of clean up work to do but for now its on the road!!

and a buddy of mine wanted some pics of it the other day

Re: Project: Desert Storm "bodydrop and more"

Thanks guys! Took it to a little show over the weekend, drove 45 minutes both ways all highway miles with not a single problem! Coming from a place where there are not many things on air people were not sure what to make of it at first, but at the end of the day it got tons of compliments which overwhelmed me because in my eyes there is so much more work left to do. Over all it was a good weekend!
