Re: Project: Built 2 Envy
Thanks man, its getting there slowly. Just started stripping my new cab today. Unfortunately it needs a little body work but not as much as my silver cab. Also has all teh steering column mounts in tact, my silver cab had everything ripped out for some reason. Also scored the front body mounts and some more interior pieces off my boys truck!

Re: Project: Built 2 Envy
Worked on stripping my boys cab again today, got the whole front clip off, swapped the rad support into his blazer (repaired a little rust hole as well), steering column out, master cylinder out, and some other stupid little bs. Need to pull the pedal assembly, vent system, heater core, blower box, e brake, and wiper assembly.
Along with the cab I scored all the missing interior pieces I needed! Kick panels, back wall, and b pillars. Had no idea first gens had all the back wall trim, and especially the kick panels! Also got a new wiper cowl since one of my tabs were rotted on mine and Im trading one of my smooth tailgates for one with the raised chevrolet letters. |

Re: Project: Built 2 Envy
Pics of the new daily!
What going on guys been awhile! After dailying the ZX3 pretty much stock the motor finally let go... After a long drawn out search I finally came to my senses and got another focus. I really was trying to get another mini truck but I winded up picking up a Screaming Yellow SVT EAP 67k, AEM intake, sportlines, not sure what exhuast but it sounds nice, and you guys all know what these things come with in EAP so Ill spare you all the rant haha, but I have to say what a huge difference, made me appreciate foci on a whole new level, these things are a totally different animal then a stock ZX3, even my 2.3. Tried to tell myself to leave it alone but its tough, got a little shopping list for it! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For the hell of it a few shots of my first focus (black 2.3), the 2nd one (silver 2.3) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Built2NV : 11-28-2009 at 08:43 PM. |

Re: Project: Built 2 Envy
I know I really need to get going on it, just been wayy too cold to work on it lately and Im in the process of stripping my other focus so I can sell it and make some money back to put towards the SVT. As soon as I get some cash coming in Im going to be banking it then after the winter do the little mods I wanna do to the focus and start busting ass on the truck. Im trying to get some work done but theres not much to do until I get money which being unemployed isnt helping... Sorry guys feel like Im letting everyone down lol

Re: Project: Built 2 Envy
Finally an update woohoo!!!! Got some work done today since it was nice out, really cold, but nice out lol Basically stripped the whole cab down so I can doing the body work. Got all the interior pieces out and in storage so I finally have a full interior for my truck now!! Just need a headliner and carpet which I planned out purchasing new anyway... I even got the little coat hanger hook, the kick panels, and lucked out and got mint seatbelts too! Next plans are to pull motor out sometime soon, someone is coming to buy it then use the money from that to have the body work done on the caband then start saving to buy my motor so I can get this thing rolling.
The bed is going to be a huge project and its something I dont think I want to attempt. Wanted to do a raised floor but the back is all rotted out in the corner so I am just going to do a full sheetmetal bed I think with small trailer fenders in it exactly like this. ![]() Heres some pics of the truck as it sits now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: Project: Built 2 Envy
yea this is Mikes old cab. Not sure whos doing the welding yet, I may just have my painter do it. I dont think Im going to do the body work until I have a set of wheels to tub the cab. If I do it now it will probably just rust again from sitting over the winter

Re: Project: Built 2 Envy
My boy knows this guy in Mineola, forgot the name of the shop, but he used to build some mild minis back in the day so he knows how to do all the custom bracing for the bed and bodywork wont be an issue as he restores some classics. Fairly priced too.
The 14s I might just keep to have since I know Ill never find another set. Why you ask you want them? |
