Re: Project: Built 2 Envy

Yea of course, everything I find for this truck is haha. I find an AWESOME deal on a cab that just needs new cab corners, guy wants 125 I pick it up. I was going to give ya 200 this weekend but if you dont mind Ill give a hundred so I can scoop this up. It has 2 almost mint doors, small amount of rot in teh corner, clean glass all around, and no dents/ding just rotted out cab corners, but not as much as mine are. I figured I can sell the doors since they are complete, panels and everything for like 150 for both or something like that to someone local, and the windshield I know someone who wants it and the back glass I may swap in when I redo my seals. Only problem is I just got my new windshield when I got the truck on the road so Im going to see if I can have someone swap it out for me.

it might just be my opinion but why spend money on another cab if there's rot on this one too. honestly, i'd hold out till you find a mint cab and get one with no rot and perfect everything. cause if your gonna go through the pain in the ass of swappin a cab. ya might as well do it for a cab that you have to do no work on. otherwise you're just pissin your money away.

Re: Project: Built 2 Envy

I went to a few body shops this afternoon to get a quote for fixing the dents in the a pillar and roof and what not, they wanted from around 300-400 for it just in primer out the door. I figured since this cab just needs corners it would be much cheaper, plus I can sell the doors and glassfor more then 125 so I figured even if I dont use it I will make some money off this

Re: Project: Built 2 Envy

so what would you do, strip the new cab, then bring it down to the body shop to do the cab corners. then swap everything over to the new cab and put the new cab on the truck. not a bad idea.

but no offense, me and judd could use somemore money first. not tryin to be a dick, but times are tight.

Re: Project: Built 2 Envy

Went dragging tonight and on thursday heres some pics I snagged from my videos. I also compiled a video with all my drag videos, thursday night I was dragging skid in the front, and tonight I dragged a set of Brians blocks. The ones with no bed were tow hitch balls.

i got there around 9 and got the last spot in the parking lot. definitely gotta get there around 8 if you wanna park with a group of people. i told robbie about it, and he's down to go whenever. we're workin real late tonight to try to get judds truck alittle safer to drive, so he could possibly bring it tomorrow night, but it'll probably be there next thurs.

if you want a shop to make a bracket for ya, there's a custom shop past UPS off 110. if you take melville rd past SUNY toward 110 and go over 110 it's down that block past UPS. i don't know if you've seen it but they built that lifted black dually with the red undercarriage on Semi rims. and they built a maroon f150 bagged on 20's with a navigator front clip(saw this the other night, it was SICK).

well you want something nice. a shop can make a nicer bracket than i can with some hand tools. and probably in half the time.

conceptually, yes. basically all ya need to do is make sure the pulley's line up so you don't through a belt. ya gotta worry about hood clearance. and then just hook up all the lines. but ya still want the bracket holding it on to look nice. and if you wanna get fancy you can have the bracket adjustable so you can adjust the tension on the belt.

if you know one of the guys who owns the shop who's got that bagged f150? that thing was sick!!!

if ya got someone to ride with, ya it aint so bad. i'd definitely recommend putting a radio in ASAP. ha ha 4 years ago, i drove to Carlisle and back with no one with me and no radio......IT SUCKED!!!
you don't have a $100 head unit layin around somewhere? i'm sure gary or joey does. hell you could probably find one on craigslist.

Re: Project: Built 2 Envy

I like your truck alot. The wheels fit it perfectly, I hope you don't slap some 20s on it. Dogdishes FTW. I wish I could find a similar style but with GMC instead of the bowtie, but I can't. All the GMC ones look funny.

Looks good, I'll be following your build.

Re: Project: Built 2 Envy

Yea its going on 20s sorry man! I love the way it looks now but once its all straight and done the way I want to they just wont look right IMO. Going for HOK Lime Time Green on the top and possibly Tuxedo Black (mercury milan color) on the bottom and do the bodyline indent in silver. Prolly do some boss 335s but nothing is set still got a long way to go
