Re: Project: Brava-dime
Squeek -you lucky bastard. i've been looking for one of those!
tell me about it, ive been watching ebay for over a year for one. the cheapest ive seen shipped, $275. i all but gave up then i had a text, "got a bravada front bumper, $100 and its yers". about peed myself will glee. apparently he hit up the local junkyard after the whole "cash 4 clunkers" fiasco and struck GOLD. 3 envoy bumpers, 2 bravada bumpers and a poo-poo load of other stuff dirt cheap snakenet -hey slappy which bumper did u have on at the clovis show? im looking for a sonoma bumper for mine so i dont have the headlight gap i had the sonoma front bumper on it. had to cut the bottom 2" off so it would lay doors. its gonna get cut into 4 pieces and meet the dump unless someone wants it. freebee (shipping costs of course). or a road trip for close by minis Slow_S10 -I can't speak for Slappy but I have used a Sonoma bumper with a Bravada grill before and it fit perfectly... However now I have the real deal on mine too. ![]() indeed this gentleman is correct. we have a plethera of parts that are interchangable. s-10, sonoma, envoy, jimmy, blazer, bravada, etc will all interchange ifyou get the according headlites, etc. unreal how one truck can change with some various items..... now i have bravada grille, bumper, sonoma headlites and sonoma core support with no cutting/modifying. |

But Whenever I got bored with the way my truck looks I just dig out a different front end and change it up for a while. It probably takes me all of a half hour to switch everything out too. just for Grins here is how it looks now... ![]() And how it looked On Monday... ![]() |

Re: Project: Brava-dime
NICE MR SLAPPY SIR!
You better put some billet in that thing tho! Are you going to have to cut it so it lays nice? I would maybe consider sectioning a section out of the upper part that covers the actual bumper, that way you keeep the lower portion all stock and clean looking. You don't see too many people that do it, but it would look really clean. |

dimeon15s -Yo, drag them fog lights off Mr. slappy, i love it. I dont get to check out this forum too much as im usually working on my shit but you always seem to amaze me. Straight minitrucker!
And just saw that u where working on your doors and dash panels, please clean them up this thing is so badass. I love it, it gives me a boost to work on mine! Keep up the good work, also the bed looks good man! i am what i am. (POPEYE is my idol, inspiration and a legend) watching people like "dave" build the worlds first 4 door longbed, the green/silver dually dime, damn near every truck i used to just awe over made me what i am today... im just giving back to the community, one idea at a time purevil115 -laying foglights is hilarious, how you going to finish the bumper off on the bottom now. the only option i have at this point is to plate the very bottom with some kinda 1/8" steel piece, mending it to the correct curvature, that would enclose the bottom and let the fog lights lay on that, not the ground.... on the fence ho cause layin fogs just looks cool as hell to me. i need a stock pic next to mine for comparrison MeltingPlasticdude, u just wasted a perfectly good bumper.. like some have been saying, i would have sectioned it to fit better and still kept the bottom end... Droppedime08I agree, the bumper doesnt really look good. Tuckin15sHaha im still on the fence with the bumper slappy i love the laying fog lights but i wonder what it would look like if it was sectioned? But either way i lover the bravada bumper so lookin good slappy keep up the work bro. sectioning the bumper wouldnt work on this. i have a 1 gallon "purge" tank directly behind the bumper for the front end for alittle "boost" of air. also the bumper support wouldnt have worked with a sectioned bumper. sayin that "i wasted a perfectly good bumper" isnt too bad considering i cut a mint bravada in half, cut a mint sonoma in half. i cannot make everyone happy with my build, all i can do is continue to build it and watch it unfold. gameplans are for sporting events, i prefer the "wing it" method. if i choose to replace it, my boy has another bravada bumper......... snakenet -you are trippin ![]() especially with a username like 'melting plastic' thats exactly what hes gonna do when he drags this thing! all haters please leave the thread! as stated above, i cannot make everyone happy with every idea i have. its the way of the world man, dont crucify on my behalf, he has every right to display his comments, suggestions and thoughts...... he has also done some extremely creative stuff as well, check his some of his work out snakenet |

Damn, Slappy, just when I thought it could get crazier, you strive to lay fogs. I really wish I would have come to see this when I was in California. Keep up the amazing work because you truly are an inspiration to people who want to be different.

Re: Project: Brava-dime
I bet it looks awkward as hell aired up. Doored trucks already look a little odd air up, just think how this huge thing will look.
On the bumper, I would at least put something below the fogs to hold them in, if not you'll be replacing those alot I would think. |

Re: Project: Brava-dime
orangesonoma -wow that bumper cover is ummm different..
it looks like you put it on then dragged it off... indeed it does. it wasnt really that easy to recognize with the sonoma bumper i guess. i had to make it happen tho. after all, it is 1/2 BRAVADA rbryant4 -yea, looks like brians back bumper! have not seen pics of said bumper but a compliment? back-handed maybe? TA^Guy -I agree. Sorry Slappy might look cool laid out but I think it'll look horrible when it's not. As someone else stated I would have sectioned it so there was still a bottom to it. Wow so we disagree with one thing and now we are 'haters', get a life it's called an opinion. hey, dont be sorry man, its your opinion and as it seems most members as well. i can live with something people cant agree with. again, sectioning it wouldnt (or couldnt) be achieved with the purge tank mounted where it is. i can concure with some peoples "backing" of certain projects and he is definately behind mine, i cant be mad at his "verbal passion", please dont hold him to his assault on you all. his ride is under its own knife as well..... bnkrpt311 -it might look dumb lifted but hey most pictures will be taken when its laid out ![]() this is true, rollin into shows will prolly get a few "boo's" and "what the?" but after its parked and layed out, hopefully i can get some love returned...... . UPDATE: the interior plastics, door panels and dash are out for the first round of primer, silver base and kandy..................... gawd, its finally happening!!! |
