i am watching your build as well, and did notice you changed yer mind on the cab situation........ im definately wantin to see how the east coast handles not having all the bullshit smog/legal crap out there way. you guys have it sooo much better than we do on that note. i am also rockerless/doored with the right hand drive and longbed to boot. ive always loved the long and low.. i definately think Dave took the look to an all new level with the 4 door longbed.

Either way both trucks are gonna be sweet man. Im in the eastcoast here in PA anyway and emissions and inspection sux. My buddy is gonna do the inspection and all that tho so im good. Daves truck was the inspiration for my truck. Its nice to have a peice of the quadcab on my ex cab! Your truck will be like 24 ft long or so I bet.

relax buddy, i like the idea and its gonna be nice, but nothing in this thread is an original idea, (the OP even sayed he was inspired by a few east coast trucks), except that he is taking it one step farther and adding multiple ideas together, which i give him credit for.

But you are trying to make him out to be some kind of innovator, relax, its just an S-10.

OP goodluck, and keep this project going, i am really anxious to see this thing come together

ok this pisses me off when he says he is building the exact same truck... not true. Slappys lays doors, right hand drive, long bed and he is using a bravada cab. How is that the same truck that he is building?

Plus he has to do alot more work than phatfarmer, slappys cab isnt ALREADY bodydroped or a crew cab.... Thanks!

how is he not a innovator? I belive this is the worlds first....?

If its just a s10, then non of us are innovators since we are all on this forum. He is making it one of a kind, just the like type of guy he is. Worlds first, worlds only.

Thanks

Re: Project: Brava-dime

backwards update:
im stuck in between a rock and a hard place. my truck (which is finally featured in minitruckin') was supposed to be the guinnea pig/doner x-cab for the build and after my close friends talked to me and got a final "realized" idea on the build, they told me its not werth tearing, cutting and destroying such a truck...........
a day after this all happened my buddy calls me and tells me he just got a free 2001 sonoma and i can rape it to high hell. in doing this i can keep my truck as it sits now, build the bravada using the sonoma as a doner and have 2 trucks in the end.
my soul was in the the 4 door+x-cab idea but in all reality, having 2 trucks is better than one, right? so now im running with a true 4 door longbed, still right hand drive and still doored..... not giving up, just realizing my goal will still be impressive, just 14-ish" shorter. should have most ofthe front sheetmetal by saturday/sunday and due to rain the frame steel is alittle behind delivery.......

OK i did not post that to start a fight, so lets not turn it into that. But, Martins is not gonna be body dropped he was gonna put a stock floor and firewall back in the brew cab.

But anyway, i cant wait to see slappys get done its gonna be sick. What he is doing is gonna be sick no doubt.

He even said himself this was all inspired by all the trucks out here, not that he came out with this new idea. i understand that you are sticking up for your boy, i would too. But there is a reason S-10s are called the civic of the truck world, everyone has them and everything that you can imagine has probably be done at one point or another. so yes, NONE of us are innovators.

Like i said, props to him for doing it, its not gonna be easy, but an innovator he is not.

Slappy, this is not a jab towards you at all and i hope you understand that. The MT feature was awesome as well as your new build. I am also glad to hear that you are not cutting up the feature truck, it just sucks your loosing the ex-cab part of it.

I am now done OTing this thread. So low if you insist on keeping this going, please do so in a PM, respect your boys thread.

Re: Project: Brava-dime

it will be awesome to have two trucks in the end. I cant believe you were thinking of destroying your other one! Definetely still try for the ext cab part of it, thats what is going to make this one stand out.

Re: Project: Brava-dime

UPDATE:
i ended up picking up one of my master minds of metal and we swung by my buddies house after i got home from werk to tear into the stock sonoma. i didnt have my camera but to tell you the truth, the fog was so thick, they probably wouldnt have came out. i did however get pics of everything i could fit in my fullsize. i did get the roof line cut in the stock cab, 2morrow i will hopefully finish that as well as bring it home and the core support as well......
im simply exstatic by all the peeps keeping tabs on the build. please keep in mind, i have the funds of a homeless field mouse at times so the progress isnt as great as id like it at times.......... and this is why i gave myself a year to complete it all.
thank you all for watching the progress of a hopeless builder and his idea of a bitchen truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i hope there are no let-downs at the end of the build..................

Re: Project: Brava-dime

UPDATE:
finally got the sonoma tore down. the motor/trans are waiting to come to my house, after the frame steel gets here. gutted the fenders and cut the 2 1/2" off the bottom to mount up and see how she looks. also have the hood mounted up to see how much the motor will stick through. the whole core support wit hradiator and all is in the wifes fullsize so i couldnt get it to mock up as of yet. 2nite im suppose to go get the cab we sliced in half and then i can start getting lines ready to cut the bravada. my bitchy neighbors have had family all week and its hard to get some tool time in on this beast so i guess goin to my boys house to gut the sonoma was a good release. as of right now, i have mon-tues off so thats when i hope to get sum more pics/progress goin again...........
