Project: Brava-dime

s-10 forum has been a huge help/inspiration many times and have seen some of the wildest, wickedest rides began and even a few completed...........
now its my turn!!!!
to me (in my opinion), the east coast brings the builds to another level so im definately looking to your builds from past to present.........
i currently own a 2002 s-10 x-cab and yesterday bought a 2000 bravada body+doors from a local junkyard, add to this an s-10 longbed i traded for my envoy bumper and its gonna go something like this:
bravada body hacked in half with my x-cab welded on the rear portion creating a full 4 door+x-cab, full doored frame build from firewall back, fully shaved longbed along with the right hand drive........ i bought the bravada yesterday 11-19-08 and im giving myself 1 year to complete...................

progress will be "almost" daily and as long as funds keep rollin in, the project stays alive!!!!!!!!

Re: Project: Brava-dime

Wheres the Crew Cab doors. i know from experience that they are a bitch to find at a resonable cost. I got one for $175 and the other for $200. Had to drive 3 hours to get the one. but it was worth it. I think the hardest part of this build will be the Bravada cladding IMO. Keep us posted.

Re: Project: Brava-dime

SMALL UPDATE:
2day i was able to get alittle cash to buy sum cutting disks and a flap disk, (wow, eh). got the bravada body kit removed and the a/c metal housing inside the cab all cut out for the mock up of the right hand drive assembly, also making paper templets for filler plates to shave up the firewall. everything will be stock components just modified like us minitruckers do. id also like to thank the manufacturers that designed the body kit and punched like 20 holes to secure it, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! keep in mind, the body needs another 2" to lay door and then i will have a pretty good measurement on the total height.....but my estimate is about 46 1/2"
the orange line in the 3rd,4th and 5th pics is where im going to cut the rear door off, discard it, cut the front of the front door off and discard that and reweld the 2 door pieces to it creating a full door.

im hoping to get the rockers cut off and floor cut out by tues-wed and have the metal for the frame by then as well...............

i agree with you and ive been looking for a full-on 4 door cab/doors for 8 months which brought me to this build, they are harder to find than a good looking woman that cooks and cleans!! the cost factor is a bank breaker as you stated earlier

thank you kind sir!!! im searching for a glass maker that could possibly help me out as i werk, also the dually idea isnt in the plans. thats just alot more werk than i can honestly budget. rear end shortening and rebuilding isnt my budget. im doing about 95% of the werk so i have to keep my ideas somewhat within reason.

im debating between the old faithful whitewalls on 15"s or my buddy has some insane 20" with 35 series rubber. the problem with the 20"s is this is going to be my daily driver and i drive 45 miles each way to werk. not alot of cusion with 35 series rubber, you know? still up in the air

UPDATE:
pretty good damage 2day, got the rockers cut off and the floor removed as well. started at 9am and finished at noon. 3 crushing hours with my trusty new grinder, air saw and my new bestest tool, the sawzall. ive never used one before and im sooooo damn impressed. gonna take the rest of the day off, i have some asshat neighbors that will start shit if i go too heavy on power tools but for now these will hopefully provide some comfort, the projects not dead..........................
