[Project]: 95 SS

So, I've had this thing for a little while and finally got around to taking some pics. As it is now, it's sitting on a 4/5 drop, all belltech stuff. Got the bed off now, welded in a grant fab roll pan and the tailgate handle is being shaved. I'll try to update as much as I can with new stuff I've done. Ok, on with the pics.

As it sits now with the 4/5 drop and bed off.

Bed off, frame painted.

Frame again.

Needing a new bumper bad, gonna check the junk yard maybe tomorrow and see what they got.

Interior torn apart, threw the seat in there to drive it out of the garage.

Bed in primer and blocked down with 400

Another shot of the bed.

Plans:

Exterior:
- shaved 3rd brake light, antenna, hood squirters
- 98+ front bumper
- Painted Hot Rod Flatz Carnival Red Pearl
- Panited handles
- SS mirrors

Interior:
- Glassed 98+ Blazer console (HVAC controls and head unit molded in) i have the console now and have tweeded the arm rest, just waiting to glass it.
- Glassed dash bezel with 7" monitor molded in
- Kicker 10" Sub in ported box and Kicker amp (have now)
- Interior parts painted Jet Black with black tweed accents

Re: [Project]: 95 SS

Small Update:

Got console stripped down and ready to start with the glass.

HVAC controls just mocked up to see how it will look.

Definately gonna need to fix that up when i glass it. But for not having to cut it, it fit pretty good.

Armrest covered in black tweed.

Another update for tonight:

Got the mapholder covered in black tweed. Turned out pretty good I think.

Another shot, panels are kinda dirty. O well.

One more

Shot of the Kicker ported box and 10" sub.

Gonna try to get the top part of the panel covered tomorrow, pics will follow.

Re: [Project]: 95 SS

Little update:
Got wires for the hvac controls extended to fit in the console. No pics because theres not a whole lot to see. Was pretty straight forward and I tested everything out and it works great. Now just gotta get some vacuum line and extend those. When its done and put back together, I'll have pictures.

Yeah, I'm not sure about that yet. I don't know if I wasnt to have it facing so I can read it from driving or how it is in the picture.

Well since most of the pictures from here were lost in the server crash, I'll just post up some newer ones. Goes from oder to newest. The truck is no almost all in sealer primer. Hopefully will be able to finish up the primer and get the jambs in color this weekend.

A heat gun and some patience. Just keep working it. The the part of the console is smoothed now for the hvac controls and the coin holder is shaved. I'll try to get some pictures.

Still needs some finish work but yeah. Still not sure what I want to do with the front part. Maybe some gauges or a monitor. THe truck is all sealed now. I'll bring it out for some pics when it's not freezing here.

yeah the console is lookin good, I would probably go ahead and and put some guages in it so whenver you get that thing on air it will already be done.

and word on that freezing part, me and my friend were putting in the poppers and it was like 20 something degrees

Here's some new pics of it in paint. Hot Rod Flatz carnival red pearl. It has a lot of flake added to it but you really have to see it in person to tell. The paint is definitely a good product. Should be real durable and washed up pretty nice. Next up is probably some Silverado or Cobalt SS badges and then maybe some pinstriping on the hood and rear cab pillars. THen work starts back on the interior. Let me know what you guys think.

Does that stuff feel smooth to the touch like regular paint or is it kinda rough?

Re: [Project]: 95 SS

Yeah, it's pretty smooth. If all the flake wasn't added, it would be just as smooth as single stage paint.

Yeah, I think it is off a little. It kinda sticks inside the jamb a little. It's not really noticeable though. Is there any way to fix it?

yea it can be adjusted. not sure how though. i know the striker is adjustable. it looks like it just needs to come out about a 1/4 of an inch or so. that should make the front of the door line up too. it wasnt ever hit was it?

I think the silvy badges would be big and goofy lookin. The cobalt badges may look a little better... but I much prefer the originals. Makes the truck seem more authentic rather than someone who may have just thrown some SS badges on a non B4U.

Re: [Project]: 95 SS

I'm gonna update this thread with the new pictures and the start of my new interior work.

now onto the new interior work. A 6.5" Sony monitor will be molded into the dash bezel so I started on what I want in the glove box. PS2 is going inside the center console so I molded a controller into the inside of the glove box. Still has a lot of work left on it, mainly the edges needs cleaned up. Still opens and closes fine and everything clears. It will get painted same red as arm rest pieces as well as the bezel and maybe entire dash will be painted. Also new fiberglass door panels and sub box.

Dude, that controller holder is sick. I'm wondering about the vent opening though... maybe some sort of slotted metal material? polished like billet or painted to match the rest of it? Just throwin some ideas out there.

I considered that also, but then realized it would show when the vent flaps are adjusted and angled n such. Unless you just wanna paint the whole vent front and back and have the red flake in the middle of black tweed.

Re: [Project]: 95 SS

Got my new front end parts today. Sonoma hood and blazer composite grill. Now I just need some blazer headlights and the front end will be rockin again. Gonna shave the squirters on this hood and paint it hopefully soon. I like this hood so much better than the stock s10 hood and it gives me the hybrid front end. Sonoma hood, blazer grill, s10 bumper.

Why? it will flow nice with the bumper and I don't really like the painted grill, especially with the blazer headlights.
