Re: Project: 2003 zq8 zebra.

Selling the new ugly black wheels tomorrow possibly and probably selling my boss 304's soon.
Throw out some suggestions on new wheels. Really wanting to stay with 20" wheels.

so far i like
Showwheels (@ JDWheels)
Ridlers
Boss 335 in silver
American Racing Daytona's (black with polished lip)
KMC Nova machined

I'm looking at some Billet specialties daggers locally. I sent the guy an email a while back and if he still has them in a few days i might go check them out. He said they're 4" backspacing. 20x8.5 all the way around. Wouldn't that be about 0 offset?

For offset, those billets would be a negative offset of 0.250". I'd have him double check that measurement. Either they are not 8.5 wide or he measured the backspacing wrong. If those measurements are correct, then you might run into fender rubbing issues.

Im not really sure what sort of overall look you are going for. But I know american racing has some new wheels out called "blvd" that look nice.

The guy sold the billets. Oh well. didn't really like them 100% honestly. Not really wanting billets on a daily. Those BLVD wheels look good, wish they had more color's though. grey with polished lip, etc.

Looking at some 20" iroc wheels for cheap. Going to check them out tomorrow (they're out of state)

I sold the black wheels today, yay. Also got a cowl hood today (goodmark Gen 2).

I'm not sure if you have checked out kmc wheels recently but they have a couple new styles that I like. Kmc sync's are similar to novas in design.

The wheel itself looks good. I'm not really a fan of the black and silver or brushed finish, unless the lip is brushed.

Lol, yeah i know. I had to put them on the truck and check them out first. Those wheels in the link above look good. It's a typical look but who cares, Iroc wheels are typical too. And here are some pics.

Re: Project: 2003 zq8 zebra.

Well I bought more stuff for the truck today, Should be here soon enough. One is new Falken tires, the other is.. idk. can't tell. haha.

Went out side to mess with the truck for a couple min, wanted to see if I could figure out a quick and easy way (yeah right) to mount this gay radiator in the core support, but I kept running into the same problem of it not wanting to fit without hitting somewhere. Usually the drivers side top area hits, and if I cut that it'll look pretty ugly with a random hole there. Another issue is I don't really know of a good way to mount it. I know radiators are kinda fragile so I don't want some unreliable setup that might land me putting another radiator in on the side of the road..

What all did you cut if you're running a 4.3 radiator bodied? I'm gonna have to get this mounted up soon enough, been putting it off long enough and i really don't want to have to cut more of the core support to make it look ugly on top (besides the radiator cap cut area) Do people usually cut the bottom where the oem feet used to be? i cut the feet off of mine to make it go in.

Re: Project: 2003 zq8 zebra.

Wheels look nice but they really aren't my personal preference.

On the radiator, ya gotta cut to fit man. Did you drill holes for the mounting feet to drop into? I know that should lower it a good inch.

Post some pics!

Yeah I know he did mention at one point that he got a killer discount through LowRiderDepot (I think?)

You mind divulging how much it ran you through him? It's something that's on my "must buy at some point" list so I'm curious how much I need to save You can PM me if you don't want to make it public

Re: Project: 2003 zq8 zebra.

Probably would be best off to just PM him.

I thought I had a good design going with the clutch pedal, doesn't seem like I'll get enough travel out of that so I might be designing another one. If anyone has pics of what they did to the clutch pedal to clear the tub could you post them up?

I might ride to pull a part tomorrow to see if there are any 5 speed trucks there, and just get a new pedal, start from scratch.. etc.

thanks, Blake
