Re: [Project] 10 Pennies

What didn't I do to it! It's 2 s10 bumper ends for the corners. Sectioned the factory bumper down so it was lower, added the lip on the bottom, and hand made the center section. There's a ton of cuts, but I'm stoked how it came out!

Yeah, I saw all that you had put into it... and it came out so good! I love how it matches the bodyline at the bottom of the doors/in the rocker area, just like how the Sonoma SLE bumper does

Re: [Project] 10 Pennies

This thing has come along amazingly! I love so many of the little details. I do have to say that I was disappointed not to see it finished at LOATP. Next year?

Re: [Project] 10 Pennies

Yeah, I'd like it to make it there next year. Thought about coming truckless, but figured it'd be better to save the money and put it towards finishing it. Next step is to see if this engine is any good, considering I built the entire truck around it and have never heard it run!

I'm truly jealous of this thing. I stopped at the shop recently and my jaw needed a forklift to get it off the floor. Mad props to you and John!

I completely understand. I'm playing with a full size while my dime sits collecting dust in the garage. I went truckless because I live in the next town over.

As for the questions on the motor, that's gotta tighten the sphincter a bit. Those things ain't cheap. I priced one to go in the full size, and decided on something cheaper. It's coming along beautifully. Can't wait to see what you're gonna do with the paint.

Re: [Project] 10 Pennies

how did you go about laying out the cut lines for that sun roof? did you just lay it all flat across the roof and trace it?

Im 99 percent sure that he had the frame cut out of the g6, and just centered and welded it in.

Re: [Project] 10 Pennies

Basically layed it centered kept cutting til it looked right. The whole side of the roof has been remade. The s10 roof is fairly flat. The g6 roof peaks about an inch higher.
