Re: >>Oops... I did it again ;)
I wanna see the rocker go in!
I did one a few years ago.it isn't as bad as it looks.the truck I did the floor was bent too getting that right with out a machine was too much like work but,a block of wood and a BFH did the trick. If I had to do it over again I'd just buy another cab.after the price of the part, welding wire, spot weld drill bit, paint and other materials.I also swear I could tell the seat was cocked or something IDK too bad you don't live by me.I got a complete '99 std cab body in that color ![]() Do you think the adjuster not knowing what she was doing is why it wasn't totaled?I'm definitely gonna check back to see this. |

Re: >>Oops... I did it again ;)
I didnt even notice your in Pawtucket Rhode Island! One of my venders from my home business. He's a member here named mike at Bills Auto Parts sends me northern dash assemblies and interior parts.Ive spent a couple grand with him so far.probably one of my best parts suppliers! You should check them out if you haven't already.
Y'alls accent is a trip! Sounds like the Kennedy's lol! it's probably the exact opposite of mine.when the girls answer the phone they sound super sexy.he assures me that they're the exact opposite though, lol. I'm sure you being in the assurance business you know people.why not have someone fix your truck?maybe get a buddy deal? if not I maybe able to help walk ya through it if you need any advice on how to proceed.I can do body work I'm just a crappy painter.either way I gotta see this.just remember to try to straighten it out the best you can before you start drilling out spot welds.and support the truck by its frame before you start knocking it back.otherwise the suspension will absorb a lot of the blows and it'll just rock instead of bend back. |

Re: >>Oops... I did it again ;)
here is an update on the status of the truck:
![]() here is the problem: geico came out on a supplement for all the damage they missed and the truck unfortunately is a total loss, they dont want to fix it now even though the repairs have already begun. i am waiting for my check to come in the mail so i can buy a new s10. so today i went truck shopping, and picked one out: ![]() i am literally going to spend every penny of the geico check on this truck, a 99 2.2 5spd with 114k. i put a deposit on it today and once the geico check comes in the mail i can go down and pay it off and take her home. ![]() gonna need to start another thread lol |

I love the way those s10s look, that factory maroon and silver split is a classic look for s10s. Glad everything is working out!

Re: >>Oops... I did it again ;)
the new truck has some rot on the inside of the bumper and the one from my white truck is literally brand new so i am going to swap that over when i re tutone it. the driver's door seam on the bottom is getting a little hairy as well and i will also address that when i re tutone. also the factory pewter valance on the truck is cracked and will be replaced by the black one from my white truck. you should stop by and help on this truck when i 5/6 it! i cant wait to dig into this new one, i'll post a new thread once i take her home. i am still waiting for my check from geico to come in, so i just have a deposit on the maroon truck for now. |

Re: >>Oops... I did it again ;)
Damn that sucks that they totaled it out after the repairs were already started. You should bill them for the work already completed. Your white truck was so much cleaner than my 97, it's a shame it's getting scrapped. Nice score on the new truck though, although I don't think I could go back to a 4 cylinder after owning a 4.3...

When you make a new thread for the new truck, don't name it after a catchy Britney Spears song for fcuks sake! Shit gets stuck in my head.
