Cool One Piece At A Time - 1991 Blazer Sport 4x4

Been awhile since I've been here and I have never put up a build thread.

Yeah, you know the tune where Johnny Cash stole parts of Cadillacs off the assembly line and eventually built his own brand of Caddy.

For the past 4 years, I have been the owner of a 1991 S10 Blazer Sport 4x4 4 door.

Outside hasn't changed much, but the interior has undergone some major mods.

Mods:
Exterior:
Third brake light: 1994 S10 Blazer
Hood strut: 1994 Olds Cutlass
Wheels/tires: 1993 GMC Jimmy 2WD
Rear window: 1993 GMC Typhoon
Spare tire cover: 1996 Blazer
Antenna: 1996 Blazer

Interior:
Steering wheel: 1986 Corvette
Steering column from the pivot pins up: 1989 Caddy DeVille
Express Down front windows: 1995 Pontiac Bonneville
All-Window-Down - I tap the back two window switches and all 4 windows roll down by themselves: 1994 Olds Cutlass
Window lock-out switch: 1993 Olds 98
Updated chime module with automatic locks that lock at 9MPH, turn signal chime if I leave my signal on too long: 1996 Olds Cutlass (my chime is a less annoying "ding, ding, ding" instead of the original "doooooooooooooooooot"
Overhead console: 1994 S10 Blazer
Homelink for above: 2000 Olds Bravada
Compass/temp for console: 1996 Olds Bravada
Auto-dimming rear view mirror: 2000 GMC Jimmy
Remote Keyless Entry with illuminated entry and factory alarm: 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix
Leather power seats with power lumbar: 1993 S10 Blazer
Retained Accessory Power: 1995 Chevy Camaro
CD player modified for iPod AUX input: 1995 Buick Riviera
2 piece sunvisors with vanity mirrors: 1994 S10 Blazer
Cargo mat: 1993 Olds Bravada
Dome override switch: 1995 Pontiac TransSport
Glove box lock delete: 1999 GMC Jimmy
Console: 1996 GMC Jimmy
"oh sh*t" handles: 1997 GMC Jimmy
Autodimming/heated side view mirrors: 1992 Cadillac Allante (in the works)

Under the hood:
Steering shaft: 1988 Jeep Cherokee
Hood insulation: 1988 GMC Jimmy
Horns: 1999 Cadillac DeVille
Reel Out light with mercury switch: 1992 Olds Cutlass Supreme

Suspension:
Rear sway bar: 1997 Chevy Blazer

Undercarriage:
Skid Plates: 1995 Blazer (got off a 1991 Jimmy, oddly enough)

Some mod pics:

Under the hood:

Inside:

2nd gen center console...Buick CD player...1994 Blazer leather seats.

2nd gen rear sway bar.

Console with HomeLink.

Working factory CD player with iPod mod from 1995 Riviera. (trim has been replaced with a mint piece)

Tilt/tele steering (will be having the vette wheel recovered soon)

I second this. You use the same theme for your truck as I have tried using for mine, all parts are factory option on a GM vehicle.

Re: One Piece At A Time - 1991 Blazer Sport 4x4

Thanks guys, it's a fun little project.

The console required 3 holes to be drilled, simple install, but I do have to unscrew the x-fer case shifter to remove it if I have to.

I wish I could find a job that would pay me to do the stupid s**t I do to my cars...But really, only I would do crap like this, have an outside temp and inside temp.

Ask away.

I got this from a 1996 Jimmy. You can find them in 1995-97 Blazers; 1995-96 Jimmys; 1994-96 S10 and Sonoma.

Those are not a plug in. I traced the circuits and spliced the original transfer case selector to the new 4x4 indicator.
