not an s10 but she is my GAL
well i dont have my s10 anymore and havnt in almost 3 years, since i snapped the frame from dragging it to much. i went and bought a g35 sedan and modded the hell out of that. then decided to demod that and thats now my daily. NOW i have a new project. ive had it for about 2 months now and have been moving right along with it. i figured i would throw a project thread up on this forum since i still frequent this forum a lot. and well im baggin it so why not.
car is a 69 galaxie. 2 door hard top. has the original 351w with 97k on it. motor will be getting pulled out and a full rebuild plus some goodies. goal is to be pushing close to 500hp when its done. for suspension i am bagging it with dom2500s up front and rear. the car wont lay frame but it will be very close. i dont want it to lay frame though. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() transmission thats going in. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() back aired out ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() accessory brackets painted ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() whole car aired out ![]() ![]() ![]() cavi seats FRONT and REAR ![]()

Re: not an s10 but she is my GAL
going to run 18x9 rears and 18x8 fronts 275/40 and 245/45
interior will have the 4 cavi seats. a full sheet metal dash with a sheet metal center console going all the way to the back. paint color changes every 30 minutes so that will be decided when its actually time to paint it |

Re: not an s10 but she is my GAL
ahah no supercharger. going to be all motor. the car weighs 4100lbs. its not going to be a race car. even with the 500hp (estimation) its still not going to be fast. just a fun cruiser

Re: not an s10 but she is my GAL
question 1 - how do you guys think the galaxie would look with one of these? i think it would look bad ass.
question 2 - does anyone know where i can find it for cheaper than that. thats way to expensive for some cloth and a metal frame http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/Str...Inches/557556/ |

Re: not an s10 but she is my GAL
thanks guys. drilled all the holes in the floorboard to mount the seats, for the rear i still need to weld the spacers in for the seat brackets.
also i decided to put the car back on stands this morning to see if the front bags were rubbing on the pockets at all. and they were. only when the bag was compressed though. had to cut this HUGE peice off the pockets. hahaha ![]()

Better clean up that oil, otherwise it'll stain your garage floor...like mine where my POS is pissing gear oil from the pinion seal...

Re: not an s10 but she is my GAL
i went out to the garage and sat on the floor and finished the welding on the seat brackets. thought i was done with them so i started painting them. then realized i needed to drill to holes and trim a peice that i forgot about.

Get another set of headrests for the front seats, the vinyl ones are ugly. Other than that, sweet project!

Re: not an s10 but she is my GAL
the headrest will be getting pulled off all together. they are just on there now because i havnt taken them off yet. the seats will be redone in black leather.
also went back out to the garage and took all the paint off the brackets. cut a couple peices off and redesigned them. need to pick up some angle iron tomorrow if i feel better and weld it on in a couple spots and they will finally be done. |

Re: not an s10 but she is my GAL
got enough energy to go to the garage and finish welding the new rear seat brackets. 3 of the 4 seats are now mounted. i get to take them back out now though so i can lay down some carpet and build the amp rack on the back wall

Re: not an s10 but she is my GAL
haha there are no pics. i took the seats back out so i can put carpet in. gotta go buy some carpet first though. cant use oem replacement carpet though since the oem carpet only goes to about 3-4'' into the back seat since you cant see under the bench seat. but since i am running buckets in the rear i need the carpet to be about a foot longer than stock carpet. so im going to pick up a roll and lay it down/form it myself to the length that i need it

Re: not an s10 but she is my GAL
well since i dont have anything else to do to the interior (other than drill 4 holes for the driver seat) until i buy the carpet and sheet metal for the dash/center console, im going to move to a different part of the car tomorrow. kinda scared but im going to cut the stock hood and build a cowl hood. probably around 4.5'' tall to clear the highrise intake manifold i plan to run and shotgun ram air intake.

Re: not an s10 but she is my GAL
my sisters boyfriend just text me and said he came up on a vortech supercharger that was on a 302 with all the brackets and everything. he said i can have it. i know the oldschool 302 blocks were damn near the same as the 351w(motor i have) blocks. not sure what the newish (88) 302 blocks are like though. so im hoping that i can make it work on my car. that would be awesome

Re: not an s10 but she is my GAL
The connection between a 351w and a 302 are kinda troublesome the block is taller and therefor wider the mains, rod length, and headbolts are different, bolt patterns and bore size are the same. If I remember correctly the "accessories" bolt pattern should be about the same, but I cant fully remember hope for the best. 302's are way easier to put into shit though those extra inches make it a bitch in some situations.
