Where the hood mounts to the fender is still accessable. Then just just the bolts that hold the fender to the rad support to adjust gap.

The bolts on the bottom of the fender where they mount to the cab is still accessable too.

Got the front fender fillers made and tacked in......






Frigged around making a template after template for fender fillers at the door... finally came up with something that will look good.




Also got the truck on the floor and laid it out...as you can see there is plenty of room between the cell and the floor.




Front at full lift... cell hits the floor and pops up the rear mount about 1 inch.. so if the cell had been fastened, it would definately hit before front full lift.




But.. with the front a full lift and the rear at 20 lbs, the tank is off the ground and safe...






So, with the front at full lift and the rear never below 20lbs the fuel cell should never hit the ground..... unless there is a protrusion in the road, or Phil hits shit on the road, or road kill. Also, the 20 lbs may be + or - depending on the rear load,, like the bed,, tent,, chairs,, beer.. mmmm beer.

I would for sure make a few simple 1/4X2inch straps that mount to your X members and go under that tank. yeah i know you will be careful with it at certain psi and such but lets be honest that tank will hit the ground plenty of times. you may not mean to but it will happen. ide throw a few straps around it and maybe make a cage of sorts for the bottom hell even do 1/8x 1 but i would do something to protect it for sure

this would be way better in the long run then trying to have another one built or trying to tig a crack or a hole

I was planning on making a 'cage' for it. Just running something under it so that it'll hit or rub before the tank, and at a lower height. Kind of like curb feelers.

And a non truck update. If you've been following my thread, you all know what I've gone through in the past 3+ years family wise. Well, to add to the pile, about a month ago, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Luckily, it was caught in the earlier stages, and of all the forms, it's about a 5 out of 10. The next round of tests falls around the Carlisle All Truck show, which means...I won't be attending after all. This is way more important than a truck show, which now after delays out of my control, the truck wouldn't have been ready anyways. Kind of sealed the deal. Anyways...

I put in a 60+ hour week after working last weekend, so there isn't a whole lot of progress...

The mess that is the man cave:

My dad shot the exhaust with high temp paint this past week:


Started fooling around with a wood floor:



Made some brackets on the CNC mill to support my feedline/pressure switch fittings, and feedline/tank gauge fittings:







Made a 'fake' 'fuel' cap to cover a safety blow off valve I installed on my air tank:

I worked a 60+ hour week before the show, and didn't touch the truck at all. Wouldn't have been feasible. Thanks for the words about my dad man!

Thanks Marco. GM show is the 17th of July, in the west end of Ottawa. It would be a far hike for you. And I'm not 100% sure I'll be making it to that one anyway.

And either tomorow or Thursday I'm going to "shoot" something on this build.....

One more body mod you should do, is lower the bottom of the door line to make the rocker appear to be normal height. Then I'd think the extended rocker body kit type deal was ok ;-)

Flat green S10 is Scott who is a member on here, Ram is my friend Jeffs, mine, BoboNair's (heehee) 4 door, and Jeremy's Toyota.

Truck got a lot of looks and a lot of cool feedback. Dash was a big hit, so was the wood floor that my dad worked on last week. I'm happy for him that people commented on it, and really liked it. Overall I think people though it was cool. Nobody really said much about the bed, which is kinda good because that means it didn't stand out like a sore thumb...
