Glass filler applied.
I will take the 40 grit to it later on and put some lightweight on after that to really smooth things out. ![]() |

I've got a vintage air system for it. Mounts in the cab. I will have to drill a hole for the coolant lines though.

Re: No mom, it'll stay stock...
Glass filler all smoothed out and lightweight filler on now.
Once this is sanded down, there may be a few pinners to fill, then primer. ![]() Once the primer is on and blocked out, I'll give a base/clear of black. I can't use POR because it's not recommended for anything other than metal.. but paint is what's on a firewall anyways! It'll look good. |

Re: No mom, it'll stay stock...
Why so much fuel? Because on a 4 hour road trip, I don't wanna be the guy who has to stop 4 times to refuel. Quick math showed us that assuming I get 15mpg, I can prolly get 350km out of a tank.
They got the majority of it tacked today, so I stoppe by afterword to grab it for another test fit. I'll get pics tomorrow. |

Re: No mom, it'll stay stock...
Rear of the tank is getting a 4" by 4" chamfer along the entire width. And I never ever drive that low. Around here, if you don't roll at a static dropped height, you're guaranteed to get picked off by a cop. That and the roads are way too dippy.

Re: No mom, it'll stay stock...
Firewall done and ready for etch primer...
![]() Etch primer applied.. ![]() ![]() Here is the bottom of the drivers door at the rear... I peeled back the outter skin and cut the inner skin to the radius, then I made a few releif cuts in the outter and hammered and dollied the outter skin back on with the new radius,,, didn't get a pic of the outside, but I will. A little weld on the inside and a little body work and the rads will be nice... then I have to match the body to the doors.

Re: No mom, it'll stay stock...
And yes, extremely anxious. My goal was Carlisle but due to some unforeseen circumstances not related to the truck, priorities have changed. In a way I feel I've relieved myself of stress and pressure, but at the same time I have a whole new set of challenges to face with my parents in the near future.
