Re: Laying On Billet 22s

Since you are talking about spending some money, get some billets!!! Hell with a turbo. If you want to go fast make a fast car, or set the truck up specificly to go fast. Doubt you will ever be able to put all that power to ground with the link setup that it has. Im all about a badass fast truck, but its really hard to have it both ways. It sucks to sink a boat load of money in a motor, just to have a certified tire smoker. Now having a badass motor, and being able to plant that power and haul ass, thats a different story lol.

Re: Laying On Billet 22s

I agree with billets. Turbos are cool but on that thing its gonna be there more for looks than anything else. Obviously the ls motor is cool but in all reality its plenty for thats thing. Buy the billets back for the truck lol

trucks are fast if built for it. I had an S10 blazer I did a 350swap on. I went fast, handled good, and got great gas mileage.

its a hinge off of a early nineties Buick. I forgot the model. Just had to cut about 2 inches out of the middle to narrow it. Going to do one on my latest S10.

Re: Laying On Billet 22s

lol. I picked it up for $1500. I really couldnt turn it down. Coupe's are hard to find around these parts with a clean title.

This will be the first car i have ever built completely by myself. The coyote motors are still very high now, so it will be a while before i get one, but that is the only motor that is going in this car. If i cant afford it i will just sale the car lol.

Re: Laying On Billet 22s

I hate to sound typical, but for the price of the coyote swap with a 6 speed i think i would just go ls 6 speed. But that's just me.

like i said, i know its a typical swap but much easier on the wallet.

Edit: Never seen a gas station with a gravel lot. pretty cool. haha

Good Call Blake. I found a smokin deal on a lq4. I picked it up. I guess i need to say the coyote is the only motor going in this car unless i find a deal to good to pass up lol.

I need suggestions. I want to build a nice street 6.0 motor. What is a good cam choice and components to go along with this? I want this motor to be realiable enough that i can drive across the country if i wanted too

What are you looking to do with the car? That will determine the cam. What trans, valve components, heads, exhaust, etc.

Re: Laying On Billet 22s

heads? t-56? I have a monster cam in my car, the TSP texas giant. I wouldn't go with anything that big again on a car you want to enjoy. Its way to big and doesnt make any really power until about 4k rpm. Something in the 232/234 range on a 112-114 lobe separation and upper .590-.620 lift would be nice. That said, I'm not sure what combo you have so that lift could be an issue. TSP or livernois would be able to help you narrow down a choice and probably pair it with a tune that would be close enough.

Thanks man! The car was suppose to be "straight". I screwed up and didnt really look closely at the car. After inspecting it and determining its as wavy as the ocean i tore into it last night. Its really depressing.....
