Re: Her Name, is Circa. 5.3/t56 swap (56k warning)

the kit is universalish lol. each kit is built for the vehicle you are putting it on though so its custom made.

they sit im guessing 2" below where a normal leafspring would connect at the bottom.

Re: Her Name, is Circa. 5.3/t56 swap (56k warning)

Glad that i got the frame painted last weekend when it was 70 degrees.
Today a very warm 30 degrees.

Didnt paint the gas, bumpstops or spare members cause they gonna get cut off.
I just had the frame looked at by my friend who is going to help (do) the welds for the truckarm suspension. I knew it was going to be easy but he needed to see what he was looking at.

after he left in a nice lt1 caprice wagon on airride.... neighbor came out "how much he offer you for that truck" ... haha... NEVER SELLING THIS...EVER!

im pretty sure the spring pockets when in place are in the way
and that if the stock tank was in the stock location, the arms would be hitting it

an SSBC porportioning valve
i got summit drilled/slotted rotors in the front with SSBC s10 quickchange calipers

im trying to get matching calipers for the explorer brakes... but they dont make them or yet anyways. i think they do some custom stuff so i will see if i can get it done

im not going overboard on the brakes... unless in the future i want something better but weighing in at 2800 to 3000 pounds, huge brakes and no ABS wont really stop me any quicker

Re: Her Name, is Circa. 5.3/t56 swap (56k warning)

ahhh well i guess this next weekend or the one after it, the suspension will get welded up.

i put the currie ford 9 that is suppose to bolt into stock location...well doesnt. it's close but lucky for me it wont be on leafs much longer

bump stops removed, gas tank member removed to make room for the frame boxing that is needed for the spring pocket crossmember.

cant wait for the suspension to be done >.< been long enough....rofl stupid weather.

EDIT: AND YES THE SPARE MEMBER WILL BE REMOVED, after the spring pocket member is welded in.

Re: Her Name, is Circa. 5.3/t56 swap (56k warning)

frame is getting boxed to weld the truckarm and spring members in place
then the leaf's will be taken off once the axle is sitting on the usable truckarms

between work and not having a welder = slow. but hopefully a welder will be in possesion this weekend or next

Re: Her Name, is Circa. 5.3/t56 swap (56k warning)

I ordered a Stage 4+ T56 from Sixspeedsinc.com on 7/15
so hopefully it should be here in the next two maybe three weeks

in the mean time i got some rubber put on the rims.
actually attached the axle to the leafs....havent welded the truckarms yet...

Thought i could fit wider on there... but i would have to minitub.
those are 295's in the back and 265's in the front. the SSBC quickchange calipers look good only mocked though.

Its really weird seeing another "Her Name Is" thread.

Nice choice on the rear axle. I just picked one up with factory discs for my new truck. Not as nice as yours though.

Just isnt my week...

Driving home... someone shoots paintball at the jeep...

Re: Her Name, is Circa. 5.3/t56 swap (56k warning)

im still cleaning up to make room to start it. If your on a budget i wouldnt recommend a truckarm setup unless your going to fabricate all of it...or somehow find a used setup for cheap and modify that. or find a 64-72 pickup and modify it's factory setup.
