Re: Going up?
Borrowed a drill from blazerzr5 and got one tow hook on. Battery died,so i'm waiting on it to charge so i can drill the remaining two holes for the second hook. I got them started,so i know where to drill, just need more battery power.
![]() ![]() Eventually i'm getting some rear hooks, and bolting them to the frame so i don't have to use my bumper, but haven't figured out yet how i want to mount them |

Re: Going up?
Battery was pretty good. I was giving the drill a nice workout,so it was burning up a lot of power. The only problem i had,was the battery would say charged unless i let it cool before charging.
Fyi,other hook is on. It was twice the pain in the ass that the first was. I couldnt get pics, cause it's dark. Will later. |

Re: Going up?
Sold the adapters. We thought they were spacers, but they werent. They didnt even match my lug pattern. Ordering a set of 2" aluminum spacers for the rear wheels. I'll get a set of 1" spacers for the front when money permits. I'm saving for some upcoming ventures so truck upgrades will be on hold, except small things.
I drained my transmission today, and this is what came out ![]() There's more transmission fluid that has floated to the top since this picture, but obviously i got some water in when i got the truck stuck. Squeel is a little better. It sometimes doesnt even do it. I'm gonna just drive it and see if it works itself out. It's now got 2 fresh quarts of synchromesh in it,so it should be good. |

Re: Going up?
When i left my moms,i had a tiny bit of noise in 2nd gear, but after a couple miles it disappeared. I was actually happy to catch red lights, just so i could test out the trans and see if it made noise.
I bought my rear spacers earlier. I should have a shipping confirmation sometime tommorow. I'm expecting them here by next tuesday/wednesday. I can't wait to bolt them on. It's gonna look badass. I'm anxious to go offroading again, but i seem to have a ton of stuff to do in the near future.. |

Re: Going up?
Will leave out names, but i was told by the local shop, that it would be about 3 days for my brake hoses. I called after a week, and was told they are back ordered. I called again to see when they expected them to be available, and was told that they would call around 12pm and get back to me.... I have yet to recieve a call.
To say the least,i am rather unhappy. I called kore, and can get custom hoses (Stainless, braided) in up to a 19" length for 68.50,shipped to my house. The local shop charged 119.00+ with tax. Needless to say,if they arent available and on the way tuesday,i'm cancelling my order and getting the kore hoses.

Re: Going up?
I dunno if youve seen it but there is a thread with all the fitting for the kore lines, and when you call in the order ask for the 90 degree long bend, it will make the fitting fit perfectly next to the caliper. I got 16 inch lines and they fit perfect for spindles and coils

Re: Going up?
I'd be much more comfortable with stainless hoses. I mentioned to them about the 90 degree. I was thinking of the 17 inch hoses. How much lift did your coils give? I'm thinking of some 1"-1.5" coils if i can find them. I dont want to sacrifice much travel.

Outta my price range. I'm looking for a beat up,non running one. I was gonna drop in a 350 and some slicks on the rear. Since my '91 isn't my daily though,i'm gonna just put the 350 in it instead. Need to fix my signature.

Re: Going up?
It's safe and sound. I have it on my coffee table at home. I havent had a chance to get back out there to bring yet. I will soon. I'm waiting on my wheel spacers to be delivered tommorow. I had some personal troubles going on lately, and haven't felt like doing anything.
I'll have pics tommorow when the spacers come in. I will most likely be going to the offroad shop tommorow, and getting my money back. I can use the leftover money for needed truck parts. I'm ordering the kore lines. I found a guy who also 2wd's offroad. Plus my friend terry might take his first gen ranger out. He's kinda unsure, but i keep telling him now to worry that i can pull him out,lol.. Granted he doesnt bury it to the doors or anything. Once i get the extra gas money,i'm gonna hit up the trail with them. It will be much more fun with other trucks. Plus none of us have to worry about getting stuck. |

Before
![]() ![]() After ![]() ![]() Front and rear shots,to show the width. ![]() ![]() I took the 1/4" spacers off the rear, and put them onto the front. All i have on the rear is the 2" spacer. I don't like the chrome lugnuts that came with the spacers... I plan to put some factory ones on that i have at home. Also when i do that,i'm gonna pull the wheels off and spraypaint the spacer black. I atleast want the inside of the hole that's in the middle of the spacer painted. It's too shiny looking.... |

Re: Going up?
Thanks. You can get a set of two spacers like i got for $68 shipped on ebay. They're aluminum and come with the extra lug nuts. I called, expecting to cancel my brake hose order yesterday, and the guy told me they were shipped and on the way. Should be here tommorow or friday if i remember correctly. I've gotta figure my bills and see how broke i will be this weekend, but i'm gonna try and hit up the trail again with 1 or 2 other people.

Re: Going up?
I'm not looking forward to installing them. My front lines on the '91 were on there super tight. I had to use vice grips because even the proper wrench was rounding off the edges because it was so tight. Once they're on though,i can do another 1.5" to the front then 1.5" to the rear. I'm good for now,but i would love more ground clearance.

Re: Going up?
In about 5 minutes i will finally have a rear tow hook. No more using the bumper for pulling. Eventually i plan to add a second, but i didnt want to spend the money now since i don't have to. I can always buy it later.
![]() Not bad for $7.99 at harbor freight. I found a come-a-long for like $17.99 that would work for now,but i found a 5,000lb winch that is about $220. I have some steel tubing at my moms,i have an idea of how to make a winch mount, and keep my factory bumper. Dunno if it will block my future offroad lights, but i could always leave eatra room on the winch mount to attach them. |

Re: Going up?
![]() ![]() I'm iffy about how the frame flexes there (I could flex it by hand) but for regular pulls, not yanking,it should be fine. I'm going to reinforce that area with some tubing that i have eventually. |

Re: Going up?
I know you're gonna dispute it,but i get through some fairly nasty stuff with the open differential. I'm kinda surprised. To be fair though,i hit said stuff at 10-15mph,And i lose traction but keep spinning through. Only gotten stuck that once, and i knew i would. We're going offroading this weekend for sure. I'm waiting to see what other trucks are coming. I printed a satellite map and highlighted the trail that i know exists. Gonna scout and map out any other hidden trails. I hope there are some of the awkward climbs where the ground has been all eroded from rain... Those are fun as hell in 2wd. Some decent mud would be nice as well. I wanna see how much mud i can sling with the wheel sticking out from under truck

There's a sticker in the glovebox with a bunch of codes. If you see g80 listed somewhere within those codes, you have the factory eaton g80 limited slip.

Good angle for noticing the wheel spacing. I love it so far. It looks much more aggressive than with the tires tucker underneath the truck.
![]() Hopefully wil have some awesome video/pictures tommorow. I've got a friend going offroad tommorow, plus possibly 2 more. Gonna try and get some good footage. One guy has a true 4wd trail rig.. i want to see him attempt that sinkhole that i slid into and got stuck. Hopefully we'd be able to pull him back out if he sinks it.. I'd assume that my s10,plus my buddys ranger, and my other buddys f150 could do it..but no telling. If not,it sucks for him

Would be pretty awesome if you got a 4x4 rear end you could completely swap too since apparently spacers put extra sideload on the axle bearings too.
