Plans are to clean it up right now and do some tune-up stuff, and solve a small over-heating issue. After that i intend to put a mild lift on,and some 30's. Nothing too crazy,as i want a fairly simple truck.
Dunno. I havent looked too into them. I just know the basics of how it works. I'm still planning what parts i'm going to use and what order i'm gonna get everything. Just working on the tires for now,and i want to grab fender flares now that i got paid aswell.
well, if the lower balljoint mounting point isn't higher (in relation to the spindle) than stock, all it's going to do is act as a tall spindle, simply raising the UCA rather than lifting the truck. If the LBJ mount is higher/spindle is lower, that's where you'll get the lift.
I know it's a preference but just don't get it. Leave it stock hight if not going to lower it. It's not like you can trail ride or mud with a lifted 2wd. Idk my small block s10 is dropped a little bit for a stance that's all. And my 92 4X4 is lifted. Hense 4X4 functional. But I do live in hick ass Wisconsin and we play around here. Not just looks. It's a nice truck just dont get it. My opinion!
I did and all I found was a bunch of picture of lifted 2wd trucks parked I didn't see any of them going threw mud up to there bumber or trail riding over logs and stuff and one can drive on dirt roads in a woods and snap a pic. I'm sorry just dont get it I build trucks for functionality not looks. My 94 looks great sounds great and has 532 horse to back it up. And my 94 will drive over and threw anything you throw infront of it. Take them 2wds and try and drive over a big log. Then take a FAIL pic of looking stupid
I like it man I would like to have a pre runner type s10 ( lifted 2 wheel )
I think their pretty awesome and with a rear locker they can go every where
Keep in mind though there not going to beat a 4wd but who cares its all fun
Better then letting it go to the junk yard
you sure are taking a lot of crap for having 9 posts on here...you bashing lifted 2wd's is like me saying putting 500hp+ in a street driven s10 is pointless and a waste of money. Who cares what people do to their trucks. If someone wanted your opinion they would have asked for it.
^exactly what he said besides its kiko's truck! He can do whatever he wants with it and,he will too! lol!
Where we live you don't have to worry about snow and ice but, there are plenty of poorly paved or unpaved dirt roads.that extra ground clearance makes plenty of sense for what the truck will be used for.a daily driven go where it needs to take him vehicle.
I'm not building something that will be to the doors in mud. I'm going with a locking rear end and only intend to do some trail riding, light mud,and street. Just something to daily drive, but have some fun in.
I talk crap cause I have 2 trucks I can't back it up with on and off the road. And yes I do have only 9 posts but I have a life. Work 50 hours a week and have kids don't have time to sit on here all the time with my finger up my ass. Hoping and wishing my truck would look like trucks on here. I'm actually out making my trucks into what I dream up not just dreaming. You guys can go back to playing with each other looking at pics of what you want your truck to look like I'll go back into my garage and actually do it. "END RANT"
Anyways to get these hens to stop clucking. I forgot all pre runner trucks where 2wd. So I do apologize. I am all for trail riding I go as much as I can but where I live you gotta drive 3hrs just to get to the trail parks. I was not bashing your truck kiko I just never realized pre runners where 2wd. Best of luck in the build. If your ever in Wisconsin hit me up I can get you a hell of a deal on Goodyear tires threw work. Just got some Goodyear wrangler mt/r Kevlar 33s for my 92.
That would suck. There are some actual parks not too far,but we have random woods and fields. Apparently i'm 30 minutes or less from a big trail where a lot of offroad guys hang out.
We have woods and fields to but I got the town constible after me for tearing up some flooded ditches. But I still play around here but not very many people around here that do it they all put body lifts on there silveradoes and call them mud trucks. My buddy owns 30 acres of woods I drive in but work to much to do it lately.
Instead of the extreme wheels,i'm getting a set of 15" steel wheels as originally planned. I believe these are the rims like i'm getting (i only have 1) but mine will be satin black before i install.
Just getting an idea of how it would look
Tires are 215/75/15 (27.70"). I'll eventually put bigger ones on,but in all terrain tread. I can live with the street tread for now. No updates really. Going to try and get it to the dmv tuesday and buy my tag so i can start driving it. Once that's done,i'll remove the front bumper and paint it if i have enough time. Not sure yet when i'll be picking up the new wheels. Hopefully real soon
I need to pick up the '91 somehow and drive it home aswell. Thankfully my dad can drive manual. Going to do some work to the '93 today but not much. Gonna take off the front bumper and paint it then mayve next week grab some tow hooks.
Hell yeah. It's no caddy, but i'm the proudest guy on the road. I love busting my ass on a truck, then getting to drive it when it's all done. It's the ultimate reward.
Painted the front bumper. I'm going to get some clear bumper lights,or black these out. That orange looks like total shit.
Off to haul a load of scrap now, then maybe cruise a little. I already got some mud on it earlier Scared the hell outta my mom,haha..
