from the junkyard to a great daily
wats up yall i dont post on often unless its tryin to figure more out about things i have read. and i have read pretty much if not all of the threads on here since this site wasnt blocked from my deployment for the past 7 months.
well to start i bought the truck 7 days before my deployment. was walking around a junkyard looking for parts with a buddy and saw the truck get drug off the trailer. asked about it and dude said 350 bucks and its mine. a compressor and batter later i came home with this ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and for fun this was the day before my deployment pulling my 66 bug to the new apt. ![]() ![]() the truck dont lay out. hits everywhere under the hood so i gotta fix that, the link on the rear is 2 forward 2 back and done very poorly as seen in the pics. plans for right now are redo full air ride. upper, lowers, spindles, lrd 6 link, new tank and 444s and upgrade to 20s. fully shave everything. get a new bed and hood. here is day one and this will be updated everyday from now till its done. all parts are bought ready to go. and i have 15 days before i gotta go back to work so thats free work time lol. plans are get done and drive to tn weekend of april 10th so here are more pics enjoy parts ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() now to the crappy welds ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and how i left it for the day ![]() fenders, hood, frontend off, gas tank off, bed gone. tommorrow im starting on the front end swap and the lrd 6link install. removal of abs, and ac/heat. thanks for checkin it out and if ya got any questions just ask. o and i unpacked my camera from my stuff tonight so ill have better pics starting tommorrow |

Re: from the junkyard to a great daily
Man where is a $350 bagged S10 in a junkyard when I need one?? lol
Awesome luck on the find, and looks like you're more than capable of pulling off the rehab. What are the specs on the truck as far as motor/trans, mileage, etc? |

Re: from the junkyard to a great daily
yeah it was for sure a good find. i was lookin for parts for a honda when i saw it lol. and specs are 2.2L 5 speed 65k miles on it. the wiring harness is a lil fed up cause they took the inner fenders out and just let the wheels hit the wiring... the udates are goin to be slow sorta cause i can only work on it sat sun mon and tues for about 5/6 hours a day at auto hobby on base...
here is a few but ill have alot more on saturday and should have it full frame back onthe ground sunday night. here are some pics though new 20s ![]() new a arms ![]() bad pic but a arms in and my new notch to get rid of the hack job ![]() spring pockets before i cut out for slam 7s ![]() old crossmember drilled out new one ready to go in. and rear end mount primered ![]() rear end out and i sledged the old tabs off... they all came off with 4 hits... ya real safe. old link bars ![]() and thats it for now. ill take some more pics of my 18s for yall and of everything else on saturday when i am workin on it again. |
