Re: Custom Ninja

Yes this bike IS progressing, just not..physically..

Ordered my alarm. Can't remember the model number but it has the microwave proximity sensor, 2 way pager and immobilizer. Exactly what I was looking for.

Also decided to throw in some footpegs. Why not? I got the "titanium" colored ones, 2nd from the right. I think that will most closely match my powdercoating.

Re: Custom Ninja

Okay so I am back in Kansas and back at it.

I put my wheels back on. Damn this thing is low! I might have to raise the back up one notch on my lowering links, I am going to wait until I put the plastics back on to see how it sits. I haven’t lowered the front yet either, waiting to do that as well.

Ran into a little problem with my footpeg on the driver side, when I put it on it was aloud to swing down too far. So I welded a small shim onto the inside of the bracket so the peg would hit it sooner and therefore stop at the straight point. Heres pics with the camera phone, sorry.

Sitting WAYY too low.

Shim welded into bracket.

New rest height. It sits a LITTLE high now, but I am going to grind the peg itself downa little tonight to even it out.

Also installed my alarm, DAMN that thing is loud. It had a voice speaker too, but the voice is an asian chick and as hot as it sounds it gets a little annoying. If anyone has any questions about installing an alarm on a bike hit me up, I didn’t get much help from the forums but I figured it out pretty good. I also used the microwave motion sensor and starter disable. This alarm reaches my pager/remote froma half mile! Now I will know if someone is fukking with my shit in my garage from home!

Heres a few general pics. Oh yeah put the exhaust on. It sounds gret. I still want to wrap the pipe itself, going to order that stuff on tomorrow.

Paint is DONE! I go pick it up tomorrow, throw the plastics on and take the bike back for the airbrushing, final clearcoat and buffing. SO CLOSE!!!

Re: Custom Ninja

Oh yeah, got my jacket in the mail. Mistagged, the damn thing was a medium! I didn't like it much anyway so I sent it back and am exchanging it for this. All leather, more my style really and only 20-30 bucks more.

Re: Custom Ninja

Okee dokee.. Got my plastics on yesterday. I was going to wait to post pics until I got my airbrushing done and he finished buffing it but it looks pretty damn good.

Also finished lowering the front, went down about 2.5 inches. I really like the look. Gave it a test run also, man I have really missed riding. So stoked!

Cool! Yeah I spun a mile or two on it yesterday, not much because not everything was bolted up yet. Just had the itch.

Hoping to ride it out to Meriden tomorrow for airbrushing so it should be up soon!

Yeah, not much to it really. Just fabbed a piece of steel and bolted it to one of the chain cover threaded holes. The guy who owned it before me had it hangin under the undertail by 3 or 4 zip ties connected together!

How is your bike coming? Checked out your thread awhile back but as usual can't see your pics.

OR...I could wait until she falls asleep on the couch watching a movie one night, slowly slide my arm out from behind her and sneak out to the garage to work on it...

Wait, already did that...

Re: Custom Ninja

Must be this stupid computer. The pics on the first page won't even show now. I haven't messed with my bike much lately. No funds. I did get it touched up to cover up the red showing through though. Hoping for a new job soon.

Edit: Some of the last ones are working now. That color looks great. Sort of like the color mine used to be.

Re: Custom Ninja

GM tricoat jewel red is the color.

Out of the hospital, yay!!!

On crutches, but back at the bike. I am renting a trailer to get it to airbrushing, but I am still getting it done.

I chopped the kickstand this weekend and did some other small stuff so it is ready to go. Will update when something happens!

Re: Custom Ninja

Well... Bike went to airbrushing early last week, now it's the waiting game again I guess. Paint guy just painted the passenger handles to match the wheels, they look pretty good. He has it all buffed down now and is just waiting for the airbrushing guy to be able to come in and do that part.

I got my tank pad and gas lid cover today. Also got my exhaust wrap and paint last week, so about a day or 2 of furious work and my bike should be complete.

Thanks it..

Re: Custom Ninja

Okay, I rode the bike from the paint shop to the airbrush shop today. After waiting and waiting I decided it was the only way to make it happen.

We talked and talked about it, he had some really good ideas. After deciding on what was going to happen he threw $700 at me. JUST for the airbrushing. OMG..

So tomorrow I need to call the paint guy, see what he is going to charge me, then decide whether or not I can spend that much for airbrushing. Thats a lot of money.

Re: Custom Ninja

Well I think I am going to go for it. The guy wanted $500 MINIMUM anyway, the extra 200 is because he is going crazy with it and onto the rear fender as well.

My paint guy said I owe him around $400 so I think I can do it. Man this is gonna be sick!
