It has alot of dynaglass on it which is good because it is very strong. I'm taking it all of and it is pretty hard to get off so that sucks, but I'm glad at least some of it was done with some strength.
I'll be going back with dynaglass on top of all of the areas i'm re- shaving. Then using normal filler on top of that followed by a glaze. I want to get the metal as straight as possible so I do not have to use much.

I'm buying another truck that runs/drives for the hood, fenders, grille, bumper, radiator support and a few interior pieces. I plan on keeping the bed, doors and a few other things for extra parts just in case I need them someday. But I do not have room to keep the entire truck. So I plan on keeping the doors and all of the smaller stuff in my storage shed and I plan on priming the bed and covering it so it is somewhat safe from the weather. I want to try to use as much as I can that is on the truck currently so if something does happen I have spare parts to swap over pretty quick so it will not be down for any long period of time.

Re: Bodydropped 78 Chevy LUV...

Man, I'd love to be able to fit 18's. With the bed laying like I am going to have it I will barely be able to fit 17's. I may tub the bedsides above the body line where the wheel hits it to get a little more room.
The bed measures 26" tall and still needs to come down nearly an inch so after it does I will have right at 22 inches of room from the ground to the top of the body line where the wheel will hit.

Re: Bodydropped 78 Chevy LUV...

Pics from tonight...
The magical floating bags that are not attatched to the axle...

Front passenger side not attatched. I'm guessing someone unbolted it and forgot to put the nut back on it???

Went back over the bed and got some of the remaining bondo from the low spots. Got the door most of the way done, pillar, and got the top of the fender done. The side of the fender has silver paint from someone testing a color earlier...

Gas filler...

Door handel. Showing that it was not cut to fit, but held up to the back side and tacked in...

Taillight filler???

It has LED's molded in the gate. I may just take them out and put the taillights back in for the time being. I'm not too sure about it yet. i wish someone made taillight fillers so I would not have to make them.

Re: Bodydropped 78 Chevy LUV...

Pulled the bumper off the front and cut the vents off the side of the cab.. Did not really get a chance to do much. I worked on my rollpan on the blazer a little. It is almost done getting smoothed in. And I helped shave a few things on an S10.
I'll post pics sometime in the next few days when I get free time to work on it.

I'm buying an entire truck that runs/ drives for not much more than that for the motor/ trans, bed, front end and some interior pieces..
I'll be working on the truck alot this comming Monday-Wednesday. I will not have time to do much of anything to it until then. But I'm buying a few much needed tools this weekend so I can get alot done.

I'm going to do everything myself because i do not believe in taking something to a shop unless it is brand new and still under warranty and I'm not paying for it.
Cost so far is nothing besides the truck I traded it for.
I'm buying another truck for parts it will be somewhere between $200-$400 Hopefully cheaper. I'm going to re sell it and make most if not all of my money back on it. I'm putting most of the stuff off the current truck on it that I'm taking off the parts truck so it will be a complete truck minus a motor/ trans and a few other things. I'm going to buy all new bags eventually, build a new 4 link, new shocks, paint/ and all body materials cost. Sheet metal for fillers, patches and a new fire wall/ transmission tunnell. Wheels/ tires, fuel cell, pins for pin gun, disks for grinder, blades for sawzall, wire/ gas for welder, and whatever else. I do not plan on spending much at all. But the few things I think will cost the most will be the fuel cell, bags, valves, and a new compressor.

Re: Bodydropped 78 Chevy LUV...

OK, I worked on it a little tonight...
Cut the shock brackets off and grinded them smooth...

Got the windshield out so I can start on the dash...

Side vents are cut so I can make a solid filler...

Cut the gas filler out and filler that had a pretty big gap that was holding the bed floor to the bedside...

Front drivers fender is down, drivers side is done...

Alot of holes from where the mirror looked ot be ripped off and a large dent was attempted to be pulled...

Now I know.
4 pages and finally one of the posts I have been waiting for.
I knew after looking at how alot of it was done and seeing the dents in the bedside from the inside and some of the filler flaking off that it was on thick. Now it is halfway off and is going to be a thing of the past really soon. The passenger side looks to be nearly as bad going by how dented the inside of the bedside looks compared to how smooth the outside is. Alot more pics will be comming in the near future.
